DW’s Global Eyes Security Podcast examines the recently concluded climate conference in Dubai. Nearly 200 countries agreed to “transition” from fossil fuels for the first time, and funds were pledged to the loss and damage fund to offset costs of climate change. Is it too little, too late — and who will bear the burden? Dr. Agdas Afzal of Habib University in Karachi says a “new world order” is needed, including possibly a “climate IMF.” Researcher Ritu Bharadwaj of London’s International Institute for Environment and Development (IIED) says it’s clear that multilateral institutions are not working and that climate change is causing migration.

Let me give you a quick answer – No
There is no empathy left for our neighbours now, both from government and people of India
India is already on right path towards green energy sector. But the developed countries need to support developing country by providing cheaper loan credits and other benefits.
Thanks China 🇨🇳 for
– building more and more coal-fired power plants, and
– burning more and more fossil fuel.
As of 2022, China was by far the world's largest coal consumer with 55% of energy use, an increase of 2% of the total energy from the year before.
So China is accelerating the use of coal despite it having signed the Paris agreement.
pakistan is the place where hinduism was born we need to keep differences aside and cooperate
The planet has the right to self defense.
No you can't solve the climate problem by global cooperation. The left and environmentaliats must start to read game theory. A global coordination problem the most extreme form of prissoners dilemma is not solvable. It must be removed by a other pathway.
Even though it feeels wrong and uneethical it is no other way than heavy massive engienering and resach work to make nuclear reactor so cheap that nothing else makes economic sence. It is very hard to achive that. But international "agreements" is a dead end. If we stay on that road we will all be ruined.
Just do the math! Just look at the game teory. It is not hard but impossible.
Nuclear is not, and the feelings of righteousness must be set aside. Would we rather be dead than pragmatic?
The Earth is only a small blue point without return in the universe, the big warmonger will clean the orbit.
It’s not WHO pays (an exceedingly anthropocentric view), but WHAT pays: LIFE in its current iteration
What cop28 and climate has to do with this topic 🤔
I grew up in Pakistan. 1956-1964. It was a different world then from what it is now. We all have the same needs. Clean air, water, non-toxic governments, etc. However, we are unique in that through the past Earth history there is one over riding factor to the human condition. We do not get along very well. We make suicidal decisions as manifested from our condition. We are incapable of the kind of focused characteristic growth development that is required now. Sadly, this severe lack of communal intent and genetic degeneration will be our demise unless there is Divine intervention.
If you think you can live without renewable carbon fuel you’re laughable. Who say’s this isn’t better for the human race. Just because they tell you that it is. They are Hypocrites at best.
why not nazees cooperating with Russians?
Not having children is the highest level of contribution an individual can do to stop climate catastrophes, as the governments are hesitant to invest in green technologies.
This coordinated approach seems unworkable. Climate change will cause more division, not less. Meetings like this focus on how the other countries should do more, while every nation is only willing to serve their internal needs (ESPECIALLY democracies). The way forward needs to be about transparency (shaming polluters) and incentives (carbon markets, clean infrastructure loans, etc).
Germany banega khalistan.
Stop tree cutting on christmas, save the planet !
Pakistan need $ first from his dad china 😂
It's really unfortunate that the partition of India is now causing environmental damage.
What a horrible Southern untermenschenland!
You can't change the climate it's ment to be.
Nobody can prevent Climate Change, it’s a natural occurrence! Exacerbated to some extent by Human beings, we can help it, but not prevent it!!
Could climate change force Germany to cooperative with Russia and stop buying Oil from Qatar?
How about force Chyna….
The same who pay to suffer it.
Leadership mis use the money and no action in Kiribati.
When the poor people of the world realize that all their hard earned money haven't made the climate changes any better, then the rich elite climate profiteers will be the only ones paying.
Is this like the looming climate disaster that was predicted in the 70s? The one where would enter an ice age?
EVERY SINGLE VIDEO IS ABOUT CLIMATE CHANGE?
india is heavily investing in green energy sector and evs , but the neighbors not only pakistan but other south asian country as well have a lot of instability and dim economic prospects .
