Firefighters have been wrestling massive forest fires in central Chile which have menaced the coastal cities of Vina del Mar and Valparaiso. At least 112 people have been killed since the fires began raging two days earlier. Neighbourhoods and large swathes of land were charred after deadly fires destroyed the South American country. Studies predict that such disasters are only going to get worse in future. Is the world equipped to survive the colossal damage that climate change threatens to inflict? Palki Sharma tells you.

Man these sensationalists titles…."CHILE IS ON FIRE!!!". As much as the situation could get worst because of climate changes, things can be improved with better organization. Many of the causes for these fires are preventable but because of the irresponsibility of the government investing in vital equipment like firefighting planes, people to keep the areas clean or the forestry corporations overplanting Eucalyptus trees these fires will keep happening.
