Shadow Foreign Affairs Minister Simon Birmingham says he has “high ambitions” when it comes to achieving net-zero.
Mr Birmingham told Sky News Australia that he has a desire to do it “as quickly as possible”.
“But it’s got to be balanced against the cost to Australian households, businesses and the economy.
“Which is why we’ll be making sure that people also understand the degree of challenge.
“And that we are willing to take difficult decisions.”

How can renewables be going green when lots of carbon emissions gets pumped into the Atmosphere to manufacture millions of thoughs renewables. It defeats the purpose of cutting coal. And in 20 year's all has to be replaced. How did this pass the Paris agreement off going green?
