Andy Mayer's calm manner, and agreement that the fossil fuel economy needs to be abandoned, makes it appear that his point is that government intervention is and will be ineffective is solid. The point that government really has a duty to look at and effectively support a reduction in emissions is almost lost (although it is present). I believe that the use of the term of 'collusion' by Mayer indicates he believes that government efforts are supporting corruption. It would be wise to look at how to enable effective co-operation and co-working. It strikes me as unwise to deem a climate crisis as not being a topic for government. Given that government and cabinets change frequently – what proposals are there for official bodies to support collaborations with business and industry?
