  1. I have a beautiful farm in South Dakota on land formed by glaciers. There are many lake, rocky fields, and rolling farm land. About 12 years ago, windmills started popping up like mushrooms. It now looks like an industrial park with red glowing lights at night. This because of the lie about green energy and humans causing global warming which is unproven and politically motivated by greed. It sickens. They are destroying the planet to save it.

  2. I don’t understand why people haven’t figured out “If liberals promote it, offer incentives so you’ll buy into to it, use taxpayer $$$$$$’s to reward you for a limited time that it’s JUNK!” Liberals ruin everything the only way they can promote their ridiculous behavior is to BRIBE you! Then when you finally come to your senses YOUR SCREWED society is screwed and Mother Nature has been completely abused with no recovery in sight! LIBERALS RUIN EVERYTHING

  3. Why r we throwing our money away trying to fight something….when we could be putting our money towards adapting to whatever may come our way?!

  4. Hey, why are you upset about progress, after all, you DID vote for this government didn’t you??? As for wind energy, it’s not as green as they say. Also, these giant generators have a bad habit of falling apart, catching fire, &/or blowing up. Nah. Not only are they an eye-sore they come complete with their own problems. Something like WOKE politicians . . . Don’t vote Liberal.

  5. On a lovely cold fresh winter night with no wind or sun = no electric when we need it the most just to stop 0.04% of CO worldwide while china continues to produce two coalfired plants a week! It is simply a transfer of funds to the elite.

  6. The hidden costs of netzero green energy, destruction of communities and eco systems to appease the activists and line the pockets of politicians and their corporate overlords.

  7. How nice it is for UK to lead the way in woke so that the rest of us can learn from the colapse of a once civilized country before we have gone to far down that path. Though others are trying to catch up.

  8. Wind farms have been proven to be rubbish and diesel generators etc not green

Release tesla’s technology to the public and make energy free all about themselves and lining their pockets

  9. Windmills and solar panels are destroying our scenery and guarantees that our youth will never be able to own property. Rich industries are buying up all available land for wind farms and are causing property values to soar. Your money cannot compete against theirs.

  10. Britain currently has 39.3 GWh of pumped storage. There are 4 pumped storage stations in Britain. No meaningful storage capacity has been added to the grid since the 1980s, and there is no other large scale energy storage in the country.

To cover a cold dark still winter you would need to increase pumped storage capacity by a factor of about 1000 (taking into account pumped storage is about 75% efficient). So we would need to find 4000 suitable locations where a 300 to 400m dam can be built to hold back 10 million cubic metres of water, with a fall to the turbines below of about 400 metres.

Then we would have to build 160 of these every year, year after year, for 25 years.

The scale, and the massive cost of storage, by whatever method (pumped storage is one of the cheapest by the way), make it an impossible mission.

"Wind droughts" where electrical generation runs at 20% of capacity lasting 100 days or more can be expected once every 50 years. This would see a shortfall of 2TWh at current capacities.

665TWh electricity is projected to come from wind power in 2050 (National Grid). Current wind power 75TWh (2020).

350TWh of Hydrogen storage would exceed by a considerable margin the current annual electrical generation in the UK (~300TWh). It would also be more than 50% of electrical consumption in 2050.

Hydrogen storage is also one of the more expensive energy storage strategies at $203/MWh. Pumped storage $131/TWh with gas generated about half of the latter (At 2021 prices researched by Pacific Northwest National Laboratory).

Let's look at it another way. The Royal Society recommend the UK should have 100TWh of energy storage (it's currently 39.3 GWh from 4 pumped storage facilities). That's over a 2,500 fold increase. That means building 10,000 pumped storage facilities or 400 every year.

That's at the same time as increasing wind power generation from 75TWh (in 2020) to 665TWh (in 2050 – these are UK National Grid figures). That's around 100,000 giant wind turbines. And by the time you get to 2050, the 4,000 wind turbines you needed to install in 2025 would have reached the end of their working lives and will need to be buried in landfill, and replaced with another 4,000. It's all impossible and absurd.

  11. The article does not explain what a "cable corridor" is, or why it is so detrimental to an entire community, for which it is supposed to provide power. Without that, how is one supposed to form an opinion about how detrimental the impact will be?
I think for example that, if it is a corridor of line of high tension overhead power cables, surely the impact is temporary for the duration of the erection and installation of the powerlines. Thereafter it's a matter of a linking road and periodic inspections, as they tend to be remarkably maintenance free. Life would return to normal. Could the people and animals (eg horses) not be accommodated somehow in the interim and then returned back again later?
If the cables are underground, then a similar process is involved, albeit with a greater initial disruption.
I just don't see how it could be as destructive as is made out.
My own brother lived his whole early life with a high tension powerline just beyond the back fence of their home with zero effect to anyone in the vicinity.
So please help me understand what this is all about!

  12. It’s all about money. You have the government and big corporations (money) with the cattle (people) as the concern. How best and cheapest way to care for the cattle (people). I care about the environment that big corporations can destroy and pollute.

  13. “Profit before people”………these companies and politicians really do not give a damn what they do to the environment. They always use the “green” and “environmental protection” banner as a way of destroying the countryside and the natural habitat of THOUSANDS of species as well as that of individuals and communities. I hate these bastards with an unrivalled passion. I don’t live anywhere near Lancashire, but I care for it as much as I do my own county.

  14. Soooo, destroying the environment is good for the planet? I realize people in the UK have little rights, but this is what amounts to a land grab and it's being done Soviet style.

  15. And at the end of the day it takes more fossil fuel to create all this ‘green energy’ and releases more c02 than if you’d just burned the fossil fuel for energy in the first place. It’s ironic the call it ‘renewable’ when the solar panels and wind turbines only last 10 years and can’t be recycled. What’s renewable about that? Other than that you have to renew your panels and turbines constantly…

  16. Net Zero is a scam! It is utterly unnecessary and geophysically unsustainable. Check the climate records of the past 450,000 years. We’re on the cusp of global cooling, 2034/2025, for the coming 70,000 years. By 2030, we’ll be needing more than gas heating to keep warm. The wind turbines/farm/cabling is unwarranted 😡🇬🇧

  17. The real reason global temperatures riseing is removal of green spaces .And planting houses they raise local temperatures .Adding to global temperatures across the globe .If we have to build it should be under ground .
