Australian Chamber of Commerce and Industry CEO Andrew McKellar has welcomed Resources Minister Madeleine King’s ‘Future Gas Strategy’, emphasising the role that gas plays in Australia’s transition to net zero.
The Resources Minister unveiled the strategy on Thursday which envisions gas in Australia’s energy mix until 2050 and beyond.
Her statement however brought howls of protest from environmental groups in a social media pile on.
“Today’s strategy is a very welcome step, it’s a very positive step and something the business community broadly will be welcoming,” Mr McKellar told Sky News Australia Business Editor Ross Greenwood.
“It sends an important signal that gas is an important part of the transition to net zero.
“We need to encourage exploration, we need to encourage production, the investment.
“That does take time, but having that signal now is fundamentally important.”

Why do we not have people like this Gandhi working for Australia's future instead of our local idiots!
Stuff the Greens
And what about the states and local governments that have already banned gas for new properties and businesses !?
What a joke this country has become !!
More proof that ''sooner or later, reality trumps ideology''. a quote from M Thatcher.
Great, we can go back to driving our cheap gas cars again while simultaneously feeding the plants
Net zero is a lie. Currently unattainable. People will die.
There’s plenty of gas getting pumped out , but the government sends 80% overseas
