The greening is. NASA says CO2’s direct contribution since 1989 is 14%.
It’s relieving that there are a few people with a platform AND intellect. Too commonly it’s one or the other.

Question is Matt how many people are praying for holy wisdom, clarity and understanding and guidance from the Holy Spirit? I think people could discern better if they prayed this prayer more often. I don’t think we can find wisdom devoid of God. God holds all wisdom, and if we ask him for it, he will give it to us according to the Bible. But we really need to have that wisdom when making decisions about these interesting different topics you’re discussing? Do we seek God Jesus the holy spirit first and making our decisions every time????

The link between CO2 equivalent emissions and rising global average surface temperatures is very well understood at this point, surely Jordan must know this if he's as well read as he claims he is? He cites NASA data when it suits his argument but conveniently ignores the very same source when it doesn't

He gets just about everything wrong and states these points in the most idiotic manner possible.
1. Saying that it used to be the case that co2 levels were much higher is stupid. Humanity wasnt around then, didnt develop civilisation then. Sea levels were considerably higher possibly by as much as 150m.
2. He is incorrected about greening, its 5% not 20% and this is mainly because of ambitious greening programs by india and china
I don't know what this channel is supposed to be about, but the comments full of absolutely braindead people just show why figures like Jordan Peterson are problematic. If you can't understand why global warming and burning carbon are problems, why don't you start a little bonfire in your house, keep all the windows closed, and see how that goes for you.
The biggest AGW issue is the media. Their propagation of this scam is what allows it to continue. The legacy media organizations are not providing news, only a select narrative, continuing the lie. Alarmists need to ask the question: why has there never been a mainstream televised debate on the 'Climate Change' issue? Most skeptical, intelligent people know the answer.

Sorry but this is just misinformation. It is not inappropriate to look at CO2 in a post industrial time frame because that is when humans started burning fossil fuels at substantial levels. It is a fact that annual average world temperatures are higher than previously measured. Instead of being good stewards of the earth / creation we have been vandals.

He likes plants does he?Thats nice.500 million years ago there were tropical plants in the Antarctic.CO2 levels were crazy high and temperatures 10 degrees warmer.But there weren't any mammals,only cold blooded reptiles.When things started to calm down(less volcanic activity)things cooled and we came along 2 million years ago.Earth is relatively stable now,alternating between glacial and inter-glacial.Thats why we're here.Milankovitch determines climate change in the absence of volcanic activity.And we shouldn't be seeing a one degree change every 100 years but every 1000 years in this stable inter-glacial period.So something else is afoot.I wonder what it could be.
As to what this means for us,well for you and me absolutely nothing.We're seeing more extreme weather,more water vapor, but we'll be fine.We only live 70 years.As to what it means long-term for us as a species,the scientists are grappling with that question but their counsel is clear and based on scientific research and knowledge,unlike the ramblings of this uninformed fool.
Peterson’s peddling this trash is definitely appalling like most of his ‘wisdom’.
This is strange because when I checked online it said the planet was 5 percent greener not 20 percent over the past 20 years and that the majority of the greening was a result of tree-planting projects in China and India not because of increased CO2.

People won't even buy toilet paper or tissue paper unless it's dyed white. The idea that we would make massive changes, even if there we could be certain that this would solve the problem, is absurd.
The best argument for taking action to mitigate climate change is that it would be unjust for the global poor to bear the brunt of the externalities produced by industrialization. But very little of the action being taking is designed to help the poor.

This is just an issue where I and I think many non-American Catholics diverge from Matt. I respect your views, but the overwhelming scientific consensus is that the earth is getting warmer, we are the cause in some of it. This is not some new theory, we have known that CO2 levels are rising for a long time now. Also, on Peterson's claim that you cannot "choose" a time that best fits your hypothesis, well you kind of can, that is what a hypothesis means, and a hypothesis can change through more research done into a topic. Hypothesises are a prediction of what you think will happen or what you think happened, and as I said, you can change your hypothesis according to new discoveries. If a scientist carries out an experiment, and he makes a hypothesis, he runs an experiment and he sees that it needs recalibrating, he recalibrates it. Anyways, we can disagree on these things, and we should talk about them always. God bless you. In Jesus Name, Amen!
