40 thoughts on “Extreme weather is battering Europe | DW News

  1. These catastrophic events are occurring around the world. Yet under the boot of endless US militarism and forever wars European leaders are abandoning climate. Spewing more greenhouse gases pollution than ever. Sickening to watch cowardly leaders once again embracing war just as their ancestors did on the bloodiest land mass in history

  2. Will the Earth Be Destroyed?
It is extremely confusing what most religions teach!

This is what the Bible teaches 👇🏼👇🏼
    The Bible’s answer

No, planet Earth will never be destroyed, burned in fire, or replaced. The Bible teaches that God created the earth to be inhabited forever.
“The righteous will possess the earth, and they will live forever on it.”—Psalm 37:29.
“[God] has established the earth on its foundations; it will not be moved from its place forever and ever.”—Psalm 104:5.
    “The earth remains forever.”—Ecclesiastes 1:4.
“The One who formed the earth, its Maker who firmly established it, . . . did not create it simply for nothing, but formed it to be inhabited.”—Isaiah 45:18.

    Will humans ruin the earth?
God will not allow humans to ruin the earth completely by pollution, warfare, or any other means. Rather, he will “bring to ruin those ruining the earth.” (Revelation 11:18) How will he accomplish that?

God will replace human governments, which have been unable to protect the earth, with a perfect heavenly Kingdom. (Daniel 2:44; Matthew 6:9, 10) That Kingdom will be ruled by God’s Son, Jesus Christ. (Isaiah 9:6, 7) When on earth, Jesus exercised miraculous powers over natural elements. (Mark 4:35-41) As the King of God’s Kingdom, Jesus will exercise full control over earth and its elements. He will re-create, or renew, conditions on earth, making them similar to those that existed in the garden of Eden.—Matthew 19:28; Luke 23:43.

Doesn’t the Bible teach that the earth will be burned in fire?
No, it does not. Such a misconception often comes from a misunderstanding of 2 Peter 3:7, which says: “The heavens and the earth that now exist are reserved for fire.” Consider two important points that help us understand the meaning of those words:

The Bible uses the terms “heavens,” “earth,” and “fire” to refer to more than one thing. For example, Genesis 11:1 says: “All the earth continued to be of one language.” Here, “earth” refers to human society.

The context of 2 Peter 3:7 indicates the meaning of the heavens, earth, and fire mentioned there. Verses 5 and 6 draw a parallel with the Flood of Noah’s day. On that occasion, an ancient world was destroyed, yet our planet did not disappear. Instead, the Flood wiped out a violent society, or “earth.” (Genesis 6:11) It also destroyed a kind of “heavens”—the people who ruled over that earthly society. Thus, wicked people were destroyed, not our planet. Noah and his family survived the destruction of that world and inhabited the earth after the Flood.—Genesis 8:15-18.

Similar to the waters of the Flood, the destruction, or “fire,” of 2 Peter 3:7 will bring an end to the world of wicked people, not to planet Earth. God promises “new heavens and a new earth” in which “righteousness is to dwell.” (2 Peter 3:13) A “new earth,” or new human society, will be ruled over by “new heavens,” or new leadership—God’s Kingdom. Under the rule of that Kingdom, the earth will become a peaceful paradise.—Revelation 21:1-4.
Verse 4 says " And he (God) will wipe out every tear from their eyes,g and death will be no more, neither will mourning nor outcry nor pain be anymore. The former things have passed away.”

Those words must refer to earth, because in heaven, where God is, death has never existed. These and many other scriptures of similar import certainly point this out

  3. Climate Change and Our Future—What the Bible Says

“The climate disaster is here. Earth is already becoming unlivable"- The Guardian.

Mankind faces a crisis of its own making. Most scientists agree that human activity is responsible for global warming. This rise in temperature has already changed the climate and brought disastrous consequences. These include the following:

**More frequent and intense weather events, such as heat waves, droughts, and storms, which in turn cause more floods and wildfires.
    **Melting glaciers and Arctic ice.
    **Rising sea levels.

The climate crisis has affected every corner of the earth. After documenting conditions in 193 countries, a New York Times report stated: “The planet is sending an SOS.” Because of the death and suffering climate change has caused, the World Health Organization has called it the “single biggest health threat facing humanity.”

However, we have reason to look to the future with hope. The Bible foretold the events that we see happening today, as well as why we can expect God to act and what he will do to protect our future.

Does climate change fulfill Bible prophecy?🤔

Yes. The climate crisis caused by global warming fits events the Bible foretold for our time.👇🏼👇🏼

📕Prophecy: God will “destroy those who are destroying the earth.”—Revelation 11:18, footnote
The Bible foretold a time when human actions would bring the earth to the brink of ruin. As a result of global warming, people today are ruining the planet on an unprecedented scale.
This prophecy indicates one reason why we cannot expect humans to save the earth. Note that God will step in while people “are destroying the earth.” Whatever progress well-intentioned people make in the fight against climate change, it will not be enough to keep mankind from ruining the earth.
    ——————————————————-
    📕Prophecy: “There will be fearful sights.”—Luke 21:11.
The Bible foretold that “fearful sights,” or terrifying events, would occur in our day. Climate change has generated terrifying weather events around the globe. Today, some people suffer from eco-anxiety—a chronic fear of environmental doom.
    ——————————————————
**Prophecy: “In the last days critical times hard to deal with will be here. For men will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, . . . disloyal, . . . not open to any agreement, . . . betrayers, headstrong.”—2 Timothy 3:1-4.
The Bible foretold the traits and behavior that have created the climate crises. Governments and businesses put economic interests first and betray the interests of future generations. Even when they attempt to work together, they cannot agree on the steps needed to stop global warming.
This prophecy indicates that we should not expect that people in general will change their actions and protect the earth. Rather, the Bible states that people displaying selfish qualities would “advance from bad to worse.”—2 Timothy 3:13.

Why we can be certain that God will act?
The Bible📕 reveals that Jehovah a God, our Creator, is committed to our planet and those who inhabit it. Consider just three Bible verses that indicate that God will act.

    1. God “did not create [the earth] simply for nothing, but formed it to be inhabited.”—Isaiah 45:18📕
God will accomplish his purpose for the earth. (Isaiah 55:11) He will not let it be destroyed or become uninhabitable.
    2. “The meek will possess the earth, and they will find exquisite delight in the abundance of peace. The righteous will possess the earth, and they will live forever on it.”—Psalm 37:11, 29📕
God promises that humans will live on the earth forever under peaceful conditions.
    3. “As for the wicked, they will be cut off from the earth.”—Proverbs 2:22📕
God promises to remove those who persist in wickedness, including those who ruin the earth.

What God will do for our future🌍
How will God fulfill his promises for the earth?
He will do so by means of a worldwide government known as God’s Kingdom. (Matthew 6:10) That Kingdom will rule from heaven. It will not have to negotiate with human governments on issues involving the earth and its environment. Rather, God’s Kingdom will replace human governments.—Daniel 2:44.God’s Kingdom is good news for all mankind and for the natural world. (Psalm 96:10-13) Consider what Jehovah God will do by means of his Kingdom.

    *Restore the environment
What the Bible says: “The wilderness and the parched land will exult, and the desert plain will be joyful and blossom as the saffron.”—Isaiah 35:1📕
What it means for our future: Jehovah will heal the planet, even places that have been severely damaged by humans.

    *Control extreme weather
What the Bible says: “[Jehovah] calms the windstorm; the waves of the sea grow quiet.”—Psalm 107:29📕
What it means for our future: Jehovah has the power to control the elements. People will no longer suffer from extreme weather.
*Teach good stewardship of the earth
What the Bible says: “I will give you insight and instruct you in the way you should go.”—Psalm 32:8📕
What it means for our future: Jehovah God gave humans the responsibility to care for the earth. (Genesis 1:28; 2:15) He will teach us how best to fulfill this role as good stewards of his creation, living in harmony with nature.

  4. Next time get a climatologist that will tell you Hurricanes happen fluids happen Volcanoes happen. That’s the weather, the climate is .5 debris colder then it was in 1900, you can make a lot of money preaching global warming to the masses, because of your agenda to poison the people.

  5. When temperatures rise and we use air conditioners, global warming will become even worse.
My product can greatly improve passive cooling in existing homes.
If you are traveling to Japan, please buy it as a carbon canceler and take it home with you.
    Let's break the vicious cycle.
    Ventilation should also improve allergies.

  6. Climate change does play its part but in the case of 1:49 leaving so little space for the river by enclosing it with dikes this tightly is just asking for trouble. Even the smallest streams have floodplains and we should respect that and not pretend like we can outbuild the nature.

  7. The latest (AR6) report from IPCC Working Group I (the science working group) could not identify any global trends in extreme weather events, though this statement in the body of the report did not make it into the "Summary for Policy Makers" – a politically (but not scientifically) approved document which appears to drive policy. Few people actually read the full text of the 3 Working Group reports (I have) so significant findings are missed by the mainstream media, Extreme weather events have always been with us, but though the costs of some events have been rising, much of that cost is down to building expensive infrastructure in places where it (and increasing populations) should not have been allowed. When corrected for population density and GDP, costs are not actually increasing. No individual extreme weather event can be attributed to "climate change" when "climate" is normally regarded as a 30-year average of "weather". Most extreme events can be attributed to local coincidence of natural phenomena such as the Atlantic Multi-decadal Oscillation – which explains why the frequency and intensity of Atlantic hurricanes is at present on a declining trend – or the Pacific El Nino Southern Oscillation with its known influences on weather both sides of the Pacific. There are many other influences elsewhere leading to extreme events, but global mean temperature does not seem (according to the data) to be one of them.

  8. here is the US our former chem trail fanatics have now evolved into cloud seeding conspiracy believers (I can't them theorists, they can't think all that well).

  9. Please focus on building the geo engineering solutions, green technologies and bio dome architecture for your architecture and wildlife. We can build solutions proactively !

  10. What a 'coincidence'- climate changes noted particularly from the fifties, geoengineering started in the 1940s and is being massively ramped up. Duh, I wonder what the problem is???

  11. Hold on, wasn't it GLOBAL WARMING?. You journalists and "scientists" have to be consistent otherwise people might start to ask uncomfortable questions, like the fact that temperature is rising in other planets too so how can some nobody be affecting the climate in Uranus.

  12. It's a real job too.. crazy huh.. and Im having my wives develop and new more edficient travel system and wellfare assitance thing.. aide package and free flight to india for the males if Modi want the U.N. and portion of the FEMA insurance money.. far cheaper than a mobile home and all that gasoline money and hotel room rentals and shyt…. a little drywall and a couple fans.. in the india places, a new job potential provided by Modi..

  13. As we continue to burn 8 billion tons of coal annually, and 100 million barrels of oil daily, producing the heat equivalent of 13. Hiroshima nuclear bomb blasts per second, 1,036,800 per day, we are heating the seas to 70 degF and driving 1 trillion tons of water vapor into the upper atmosphere. My dear ole Ma always told me: "what goes up must come down".

  14. The industrial revolution started here in Derbyshire where I live. Supply and demand is still in full operation and the planet is still suffering from vast amounts of chemical pollution while the lungs of the planet Amazonias forests are being destroyed on a gigantic scale mainly for moulds to hold concrete for high rise buildings etc while animal habitats no longer exist. All down to greed !!!!
