One Nation Chief of Staff James Ashby has criticised Queensland LNP leader David Crisafulli for backing Labor legislation to “lock in” net zero by 2050.
Opposition leader Peter Dutton says he will not quit the Paris Accord or give up on net zero.
It is understood Mr Dutton’s recent dismissal of the 2030 climate target was due to the goal being unachievable.
“Peter Dutton has more than just the Labor Party to contend with,” Mr Ashby told Sky News host Paul Murray.
“He’s also got his state counterparts
“Here in Queensland, David Crisafulli, who’s the state leader of the LNP here, backed Labor legislation to lock in net zero by 2050 and, worse still, by 2035, knock carbon emissions down by 75 per cent.”
