Nationals Senator Bridget McKenzie says the Coalition’s nuclear plan is a longer-term solution to net zero.
“I think Australians, particularly in the regions … are having to bear the cost of the move to net zero,” Ms McKenzie told Sky News Australia.
“We know we need to get more gas into the system … but we also need a longer-term solution, and that is net zero nuclear, which is what we’ve got on the table.
“The Bush Summit highlighted those issues.”

Labour intent on increasing cost of power it seems. Mix that with rubbish EV and good luck.
Aust can’t even get power companies to upgrade poles with out a good cry.
Dutton is committed to providing Australians with cheap electricity after we’re dead ☠
Anything but lefty power. Bridget you poodle
LOOK ME-LUMN IT'S DA DUTTONI'STA HAYE'S DA MISST'A OF NUCLEAR ANISST'AS HAYE'S STILL ALUTTA PROUD OF KAYTE DAYE DA LADAYE TADAYE UND YESTURDAYE OKAYE ♥️👋🤪
What type of nuclear reactors, how much will it cost, and when will they come online?
Uranium is the way forward ✅
It's dumb, coal works for us if we stop selling it all to china.
Great interview Peter.
The Japanese one of the best countries in the world runs on nuclear power even with all the earthquakes so for us it should be the way to go
More evidence that the liberal communist are no different to the labour communist both parties are climate change conspiracy theorists.
LOL 😂
Net zero is bs everything lives of carbon on earth
Carbon is not a pollutant.
However nuclear radiation is one of the worst.
I call this one clickbait folks
Has anyone stopped to think if there's a war and Australia is attacked they're would be a massive and permanent ecological damage to the general Australian public and the environment.
Another Sky News nuclear ad dressed as news for foreign billionaires.
Sky News are aliens to the truth.
Sky News why do you hate Australians.
BS again and again and again
It's a super bad method of producing electricity. You will have to store the waste for ever and the building and maintenance will cost you more than you are willing to pay.
Iodine tablets anyone…..?
$600 BILLION of tax payers money, more like a $TRILLION most likely once all the actual costs are taken into account like long term storage of waste etc, on junk, obsolete, expensive and dangerous fission technology, and it will lower the Earth's temperature by exactly how much?
Can someone please tell me exactly how much the temperature will drop and exactly how much impact on electricity prices for both homes and businesses?
Where's the detail, so far its all speculation and empty rhetoric with a denial of the real costs, planning and science.
NUKE & 'RENEWABLES' IS ALL BS. THERE IS NO CLIMATE EMERGENCY. NO ONE HAS EVER PROVED THAT HUMAN CO2 CHANGES THE "EARTH'S CLIMATE".
50 YEARS OF CLIMATE DOOMSDAY PREDICTIONS – A 100% FAIL RATE. WHERE IS THE "GLOBAL COOLING" THE "EXPERTS" WARNED US ABOUT IN THE 70s ?
There was an interview with a lady on news few months ago Nucular is unhealthy cause health issues she wnt through it . NOT GOOD FOR ENVIRONMENT
Solar panels generate 300 times more toxic waste per unit of energy than nuclear power plants.
They also contain lead, cadmium, and other toxic (even carcinogenic) chemicals that cannot be removed without breaking apart the entire panel, so retired solar panels go into storage or landfill, where rainwater washes toxins out of the solar modules over time.
Another real concern is the vast increase in the use of nitrogen trifluoride (NF3) in the construction of solar panels – up 1,057 percent over the past 25 years.
The UN Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change deems NF3 to be 17,200 times more potent than carbon dioxide as a greenhouse gas – meaning that even relatively minor quantities can have major impacts.
Nuclear is the real green energy. The only one that's unlimited, affordable, and clean.
Net Zero bul shit when Indonesia on our door step the largest world polutor people dying from breathing the air.
Shouldn't third world countries be supported that will bring down global pollution AU won't make a screc difference just make AU poor
Who has the money to fly
The massive misappropriation of taxpayers money and resources into uneconomical and unreliable renewable energy projects needs to stop. We need to withdraw from the ridiculous Paris Accord and simply use the most economical energy resources available.
Why don’t we just turn off all our coal fired power stations and all our gas generators and see just how well renewables power up Australia 🇦🇺
Is it? How would we know, never seen a plan.
China gets until 2050 to do anything about their pollution, why the hell are we bankrupting our country now when we only produce 1% of the worlds pollution ? It's all rigged.
Nuclear is definitely the go, start building now and avoid the brown outs and high costs associated with so called renewables. Power bills are very high as well as all other living costs, i believe we are up to 12 interest rate increases with albanese as he frolicks his way aroung the world. Albo inviting terrorists here is the most insane thing ive seen in a long while appart from puberty blockers😢
