  1. Haven't climate scientists said we're already past the point that we could have done anything to prevent run-away climate change? To curb greenhouse gasses, the damage is pretty much done. It's pretty obvious, the climate is warming faster than anticipated, because of environmental policies being rolled back. Our only chance is to slow it down enough to come up with something to lower the amount of CO2 before we're all screwed.

  2. Except for the Fox news and weirdo conservatives, the academic or original conservatives do believe in climate change. In universities, they use the cost benefit analysis that shows it is not financially useful to do anything about climate change.

  3. Thank you, Kyle, for covering this climate story and for covering it well.

There seems to be a kind of unspoken consensus on the political left that defeating Trump and/or stopping the genocide in Gaza are so urgent that we need to focus on those 2 things first and then get back to pressuring politicians to seriously address climate change.

But Big Oil and its allies aren’t taking a break; they’re pushing to get their planet-killing agenda enacted. So we can’t take a break either. We need to fight Trump and Zionism and climate change simultaneously.

Please join a grassroots climate group near you today!

(Not a “big green” group, a grassroots activist group – big difference.)

  4. The IPCC actually predicted that hurricanes wouldnt get more frequent, and could in fact get less frequent many years ago. It wasnt the highest certainty of predictions, but its in their reports. They are also predicted to hit harder when they do appear, primarily, and this is empirically verified already to some extent, through bringing in vast amounts more water than they used to.

  5. I have a feeling in 25 years we will look at cars like people suddenly looked at cigarettes in the 80s. A good friend of mine has worked all his life in environmental organizations, but even he drove a fossil fuel car until recently. We are our cars, like cyborgs we can’t picture parting with them, and make up excuses to continue. See you again in 25 years.

  6. It’s not hyperbole to state that the southwestern part of the US will become uninhabitable within the next several decades. Think Australia: much of the landmass isn’t viable for civilization, so the vast majority of the population accumulates around the cooler coasts.

  7. Remember, Yanks: Slip on a shirt, Slop on sunscreen, Slap on a hat, Seek shade, and Slide on sunglasses. You'll lessen the odds of getting skin cancer by listening to Sid the Seagull.

  8. We are the frog in boiling water.

Northern Ontario – heat is NUTS!
We got snow yesterday – it made the news.
Frost-advisory tonight… However, later this week? Freakin' 29C/84F

==> it's almost autumn that temp used to be our summer high.

This year we hit the 40s.

  9. The fact that nobody takes climate change seriously drives me insane. As an earth science (technically Geography) major, I’m versed in how the planet functions and humans are doing a great job of ruining the place. Anybody who denies climate change is happening is either lying, ignorant, or stupid.

  10. Many delivery drivers in Phoenix do not have air conditioning in their trucks because their employers decided it was more important to spend money on cameras in the trucks than air conditioning!

  11. Weather Networks can't even accurately predict tomorrows weather, but sure, the world is headed to catastrophe

You don't have to appeal to some hypothetical post apocalyptic doom scenario to advocate for humans making changes in their life, this actually has the opposite effect and pushes people away because the sheer ridiculous of it all, it actually reminds me a lot of D.A.R.E

  12. The Atlantic conveyor (aka the Gulf stream) is threatened because the Greenland ice sheet is melting, diluting the ocean and causing the life cycle of the Atlantic conveyor to be disrupted.
Should it stop (and this is a very real risk), then there will be icebergs in the English channel and the UK climate will collapse, taking our crop yields with it, because that vast current keeps the UK warmer than it otherwise would be.
This is a world wide problem that has been known about for over a century, but successive governments have kicked the can down the road and now it is finally happening the powers that be just ignore it and keep on increasing the use of fossil fuels, because they are owned by the top 11% who don't give a 💩, they just keep on screwing us over to make more money than they could ever hope to spend in a dozen lifetimes…

  13. have a look to daniel schmachtenberger work. or nate hagens work. there is a lot more to say than the simplistic democrats/reps propanganda. democracy is a bottom-up system, they are not elected to make life harder, so neither will ever do anything significant. they ll wash greener than green, but that is still largely insufficient because it wont tackle the problem at it source.

  14. Camping in pinyon juniper forest in Nevada at tre moment. Forests throughout the West are on fire right now. And so much of our Western forests have died from drought and disease and insects in the last twenty years. We have passed a tipping point in these forests, and many of our forests are dying and burning off

  15. Oh no it’s almost as if we are still coming out of the ice age… kind of like spring time.

Expect it to only get worse.
We will come into another ice age, but we won’t be around for it.

  16. What will happen if the ocean currents stop? Who knows, but at the very least, marine life will be heavily disrupted. And also it’s highly likely that the warm water from the gulf that flows to Europe will stop and that will cause Europe to get really cold. Similar climates in Europe compared to the US are located much further north than they are in the US and the Gulf Stream is a big reason as to why.

  17. IN WA State . In Western Wa we didn't have a 100 degree day this year ? The Norm would be at least 2-5 Days of 100 degree weather . I think there is a different explanation that a Political Buzzword of Climate change. So let's ask questions and get real data. When the The earth's rotation around the sun is in a cycle where is closest to the sun "milankovitch cycles" . this cycle is every 100,000 years . When this happens the North Pole will be Iceless. SO STOP saying its the Middle Class ? When the Top 3% of the world has a 800% bigger carbon footprint Than the Rest of us . Your Propaganda is fear mongering . We should take Kyle off the Internet to lower emissions to save the Planet. ?
