The UK is “running headlong into this net zero fantasy”, says Spiked Online Editor Tom Slater.
His remarks come as the nation is set to stop producing any electricity from burning coal – ending its 142-year reliance on fossil fuel.
“We’re going to become the first country to completely abandon coal-assisted source of energy, closing our last remaining coal-fired power plant,” Mr Slater told Sky News host Danica De Giorgio.

High energy costs equal to industries demise, higher manufacturing costs, adding to further de-industrialisation. Eg British Steel ( = men losing jobs). Services/Retail sector have not recovered in major UK cities and towns ( = women losing jobs). Where is UK heading to in the future ?

There is no such thing as “ fossil fuel” oil/coal/natural gas is just that- natural secretions and natural elements of the earth’s creation/existence.

The electrical prices went up under the conservatives, as far as I’m concerned if anyone is to blame for energy prices it’s the conservatives and saying that fossil fuels are more reliable then renewables is forgetting climate change which definitely would have killed billions if we didn’t do anything to stop it
