On Tuesday night, Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz and Ohio Sen. JD Vance took to the debate stage in the only vice presidential debate of the 2024 election season.
Early on in the debate, moderator Norah O’Donnell said “Scientists say climate change makes these hurricanes larger, stronger, and more deadly because of the historic rainfall.”
Executive Director of CO2 Coalition Gregory R. Wrightstone says O’Donnell is wrong, and he joins “The Daily Signal Podcast” to explain why.

A Very wise man once said. Once a person is given a little power, they tend to usurp that power to gain more. Also, it is through fear that is almost without exception. Governments of failed nations, have favored fear to gain power and subjugate their citizens.

Hold on now, the warning against the change in 0.5 degree is a global average change. This means that that certain areas will get WAAAY hotter than they already are.
Check out what NASA and NOAA actually say about hurricanes and climate change. And as of today, hurricane Milton is crossing the hottest Gulf of Mexico on record and is forecast to become one of the worst gulfside storms on record.

Global warming is occurring more at the poles than the equator, so the temperature differentials between the poles and equator is diminishing. That means less energy available for storms. This needs to be FAR more widely appreciated.
Missing in all of the actual science debunking the press and other exaggerating the issue is the affect of manmade modification of the lands which are causing most of the runoff issues. This effect has been in effect since humans from Europe landed in the US and started modifying the lands, impacting runoff and impacting the natural barriers to storm surges on coastal lands. I wish that argument would more often be used in conjunction with all of the actual science being presented.
