This hurricane season perfectly highlights how MAGA is unfit to govern or handle any responsibilities. My thoughts and prayers are with everyone affected by the situation involving Milton from Utah and Tampa Bay.
So, the syorm surge wasn't as bad as predicted. Good for Florida residents. Hurricanes happen! Last year 2023 only ONE hurricane made landfall in the U.S., well below the average of seven! 12 of the 15 deadliest weather events in U.S. history before Helene – hurricanes, floods, earthquakes, fires, drought etc. – all happened before 1950! No one back then was talking about climate change or global warming!

The American people are very good at dealing with consequences. Too good. That is why they are always late in trying to deal with causes.
The U.S. is only responsible for 10% of the world's greenhouse gasses. The other 90% (Russia, China, India) don't care. Until they care, nothing will change.
We should adopt a different approach to naming hurricanes. Instead of using people’s names, we should name them after oil companies. For example, Hurricane Exxon, Hurricane Shell.
Florida is the poster child for global warming
"New normal" says Florida isn't a place to "rebuild in a resilient way." Unless you can build everything to be periodically soaked and submerged. Imagine the sewage and trash this hurricane has flung around. "So I have this home on a barrier island that get's washed away every third year that I need to sell."

Florida used to get 1 major storm every 3 years. Now it is 2 per year. I fear that Florida is going to become unlivable in future along with a lot of the east coast. Insurance companies will not insure in Florida at all if this becomes the norm.

This is not something that will only impact your children's and grandchildren's future. Abrupt climate change will adversely impact every person now alive on Earth.
