Have you ever wondered if the carbon dioxide from factory chimneys could actually become a “treasure” for creating materials? Let us introduce you to this exciting innovative technology—” Fixing Flue Gas CO2 into Polycarbonate Resin Technology,” and see how CHIMEI transforms this carbon dioxide from waste into wonder.
🌎 From Flue Gas to Fixed Carbon Polycarbonate (PC): An Innovative Circular Journey
Developed in collaboration with Industrial Technology Research Institute (ITRI), this innovative carbon-fixing polycarbonate (PC) technology represents a significant milestone in our journey towards sustainability. Recognized with the prestigious “R&D 100 Award”, often dubbed the “Oscars of R&D,” this technology enables us to convert CO2 from flue gas into an intermediate for polycarbonate (PC) production, reducing carbon emissions by 17% compared to conventional PC products. We estimate that this technology can reduce annual carbon emissions by 178,500 metric tons. The achievement solidify our commitment to achieving net-zero emissions by 2050.
🌎 Fulfilling Our Commitment: Clean & Green
CHIMEI has been consistently exploring more sustainable material solutions. From mechanical and chemical recycling to the application of bio-based materials, we remain committed to innovation and sustainability, aspiring to be a leading global partner in sustainable materials. In the future, we will continue to uphold our Clean & Green vision, developing more forward-looking eco-friendly materials and technologies, enhancing the sustainable benefits of high-performance materials, and moving towards a net-zero carbon future together with the world.
