The UK will be world leading in “naive stupidity” if the Government continues to close blast furnaces and put an end to British steelmaking, Reform UK’s Richard Tice has said.
The party’s deputy leader said the current state of the steel industry is a “catastrophe” and accused both the Tories and the Labour Party of “negligence”.
Tice joins Talk’s Mike Graham to talk this further.

We should be producing our own steel, our own shipbuilding, especially for our navy and aircraft, we would habe people in work, earning money and spending and paying tax, our economy would be incredible, SO WHY AREN'T WE DOING IT…
Don't forget the homes that need building. Import the steel from china, why don't we forget about climate change because importing it is really going to help the climate isn't it?… NOT. OUR STEEL IS THE BEST IN THE WORLD BRING ALL OF OUR MANUFACTURING BACK HERE.
