  1. Stelantis will be replacing their c.e.o …..they gambled in the uS market on EV's and lost . Chrysler. will be shed . Slaes of STELANTIS in the uS is dead….
Stelantis liked the numbers and committed to EV's ….loser call ….
    Walter P Chrysler desrves better.

The blue collar name plate, DODGE , is now selling all electric cars for 100k US +
The blue collar crowd is balking .

  2. EVs are certainly selling in larger numbers.
Up 22% with a total of 11.5 million cars worldwide Sept 24 compared to Sept 23.
They make a lot of sense for city day-to-day driving.

  3. I told a politician in Belgium ones that I will drive a EV as there is no road tax, no sales tax, no tax on electricity, no import duty, cheap insurance and ten years of full warranty.
Reply, that is not going to happen.
My reply, my 2005 diesel and 1991 petrol are in good order and stay on the road.
His reply, we bump up road tax and tax on fuel.
He misses out because I moved to France, no road tax here and I bought a second diesel here and transfert my van and motorbikes to French plates.
Bye Belgium, no more money from me.

  4. The big problem with hybrid is every problem that an EV has and that's why I'd never own either. Who in their right mind would want to sit on high voltage battery's & cables with the extra risks including being electrocuted in an accident. Toyota can get trucked forcing us into evs.

  5. The dealers register unsold EV cars to avoid the fines. They then list that car as a used car with low miles (under 100) sometimes as little as delivery mileage with a hefty discount.

  6. it is quite enough that we continue to put more and more cars on the street, when at the same time that the one who can call people's sins there, along with flying and shipping crime, is one of the main reasons why the weather around the earth is just getting wilder and wilder. people seem to think as long as it's not my house that's flooded i don't care

  7. An ICE car wears and deteriorates by the mile driven and will take nearly 200,000 miles to become just scrap value.
The EV battery deteriorates just sitting there, and even faster if you charge it quickly!
Anyone want to clame they have an EV running on its original battery at over 200,000 miles? (Proof will be required)

  8. Discounting EVs to help drivers transition from petrol/diesel is not going to work, you still have a worthless EV in just 8 years.
Incidentally the car park at Brent Cross shopping center is still full of Tesla they cannot sell, and if you cannot sell them in London you cannot sell them anywhere!

  9. Its funny that these car producers are still not realizing that the destruction of there sector is the goal. And that they themselves are lobbying for there own destruction. A smart game the elite are playing I must admit that.

  10. Stellantis over extended themselves into the EV market to compete with the Chinese which is why they want the gov’t to continue to impose mandates to protect them. There isn’t enough public money to incentivize the purchase of EVs to achieve its mandates. Take away the mandates, incentives and stimulus and the real EV market is likely around 5%-8%.

  11. As a business Stallantis America has become a non entity with a massive number of unsold vehicles, prices that no one can afford and vehicles no one wants, therefore, Mr BMW has it it right whilst stallantis views are now totally irrelvant and the company can be completely disregarded. It's a very sad situation for their employee's around the world and everyone else associated in the supply chain.

  12. How I love my ev. Best car I ever had from the load of petrol and diesels Ive had. But than i am only 70 so I am still able to think new. I benefit a lot from that as i almost avoided the purch 2years ago as i diden`t know better.

  13. This is nothing new, these targets were mentioned more than 6 years ago and there's 10 years to go. I dont believe in incentives, let the market decide. However, these manufacturers have known and have had time to develop. You cant be worried about Chinese EVs and in the same sentence say no one wants to buy them. The margins on cars are too small and the company's are in too much debt.

  14. There is still a pretty massive difference in energy density from fuels to batteries. That is mostly an insurmountable obstacle for mass adoption.

So sure, for niche uses it can and does make sense.

They also need to settle on a standard for replacing batteries at charging stations, just like what Nio has. Then, maybe, the market will increase.

Thinking that this will be done in 10y is for silly geese. You can accelerate but you cannot mandate innovation.
