The steelworks furnace in Cardiff, uses the same amount of electricity as the whole of Cardiff's residential area, per month so how are they producing that much energy? And now they have to produce it for Port Talbot as well 🤷

The government has destroyed our coal industry, a country litually built over masive coal fields benieth our feet. We have a minimum of a thousand years of coal reserves that can be burnt as cleanly as natural gas ! I alao remember as a kid in the early 70s when we discovered North Sea gas, the government bragged that they could supply the public for pennies ! Yeah, we didn't see those cheap gas supplies either ! Then the same bull shit came with thus so-called wind and sunlight electricity. Yet here we are paying more now than ever ! China produces more steel (using traditional blast furnaces) in a day than the UK makes in a year. I don’t believe Tata has any intention of building the Electric Arc Furnaces. Just as long as Mark Dripford is happy for achieving the Welsh assembly’s CO2 reduction targets.

But i remember when it discovered, the govt at the time (Labour), said it was 'the wrong type' for our refineries, which could only deal with the heavy oil that they were built to deal with from abroad and it would cost too much to convert them to cope with our lighter oil. So now we export our oil and import other country's oil, and are held to ransom over global prices. When will our governments ever do something right for the people of Britain?
What I don't get is why all new houses aren't being built with solar panels (wind turbine maybe, also what about down pipe water wheels and any other new technology they've invented since) I've been wondering tgis since solar panels come out, instead we'd rather build solar farms on our precious farm land rather than a new housing estate ?
That's because they own there energy companies were our are for some miraculous reason owned by foreign investment companies with major shareholder's being other country's government's and obviously our mps who for completely unbiased reasons that are perfectly leagal and definitely not corrupt in any way just happen to always vote to allow it

As a lad who grew up on the outskirts of Scunthorpe, seeing the decline of our steelworks and the closing of our coke ovens is very sad. Electric arc is nowhere near as good as coke. And will cost far more to produce. We’ve allowed foreign interests to buy up our strategic industries and we are losing jobs and security as a result. When the doors close on British steel production do you think foreign steel will still be cheap, or will they be able to charge what they wish as we’ll have no other choice.
