A new study released shows climate change is having a negative impact on a large portion of young adults’ mental health. It says nearly 60% of 16 to 25-year-olds feel anxious, powerless, or angry about the state of Earth’s climate. Study co-author Dr. Lise Van Susteren and MSNBC medical contributor Dr. Vin Gupta dig into the study and explain why action should be taken immediately.

All funded by the fossil fools industry's ability to 'purchase' politicians at every level of government. The other side of climate is the rapidly depleting fossil fuels reserves. If you want an eye opener pull down Exxon's 2024 global outlook executive summary from Exxon's website. In it exxon states that fossil fuels are being DEPLETED at the rate of 15% annually, double the IEAs predicted rate. Dind exxon calling for EVs, electrification, grid renewal, conservation. It states that every 6 days 1 million net new precious humans join us. Charts showing by 2050 (our 3 great grandchildren will be 32) we will have 30% of today's fossil fuels left. Report calls for hydrogen production, carbon capture. Its a mind blowing report when considered against the propaganda the oil majors have neen producing for decades.
I'm sure the giant pickup makers feel powerless to convince intelligent people climate change is not happening.
Climate change also impacts educated people as well. We have telling you this since the 70s and you just don't care. So now that I'm on my way out all I can do is laugh at it all. It's too late now. Good luck

My Question is after all this time that the president of US and others support climate change what exactly has change?? Does throwing money in the atmosphere will make it better? And where is the money allocated?
How about the fact that there may be finite amount of fossil fuels and future generations might need some? We should conserve it and use alternative energy for many good reasons, not just the implausible deniability fight.
These bills is bothering my mental health
What is infuriating is that we would rather fight over BS than deal with a problem that transcends religion and politics, and ultimately will affect everybody, regardless of socioeconomic status or how many followers you have on whatever silly little media you look at all the days of your life. And we don't need political consensus later; we need it now!

I haven't watched MSNBC for a while & while they're thought to be left wing biased, this is a big fail journalistically. Whether Oligarchs or whatever, someone at corporate is knee-capping & neutering reality here. Dr. Vin Gupta says & the entire thread of this piece is saying that it's a non-partisan issue. That is what they emphasize throughout. Gupta says "an older demographic of leaders disagree on whether climate change is even real" This is simply not true & therefore makes all of this garbage entertainment like Fox instead of news. It's not helpful to not deal with reality. Just say it, it's REPUBLICANS who want to roll back environmental regulations. And they even have the kid on who seems more upset about climate change being a non-partisan issue than being angry at simple fact that REPUBLICANS are actively, constantly trying to roll back any environmental protections or progress in favor of big business. MSNBC we see you & you're FAILING. (Except for Lawrence O'Donnell.) Do your job, America needs you to simply tell the truth. It's complicated enough. You know what it is, tell it, report it & discuss from there. Let the people know. The people killing the planet have names, they know who the companies are that cause most of it, REPORT IT!!!!!! REPORT ON THAT!!!
"Where there is no vision, the people perish." We need to give hope to the younger generation. We need to find a path to change direction. We need to stop spending billions on killing one another with a war machine and come together, spend the money instead on healing our planet. I know we can do it, because we have to.
It is so easy to manipulate people with the internet, it was well established in the early 2000's with all the silly "challenges" put out there… the lemmings ran to the cliff.
But, actions have always spoken louder than words and the rising insurance premiums are waking people up to the fact that human influence climate change is real.

Between climate change and rising alt-right authoritarianism it is a hard time to be young.
For these leaders of the World thinking of waging wars when the planet needs healing, chemically be freed, organic endeavors, alternative meficine and environment control AND to think that their own legacy of dystopia that they created will not affect their generations IS a delusion and a self fulfilling prophecy.
Uh, duh; we're banking on being on the planet longer, we have the most stakes in its long-term habitability. If someone born in the 1960s hears that the clinate's going to be shot to heck in 2060 if we don't seriously cut back on carbon emissions, they may still genuinely care, but they're not necessarily expecting to live to see that decade; whereas a lot of us won't even be old enough to retire in 2060, it's not some vague date in the future that won't have any significance during our own lifetimes.
It takes 20-40 years before current teens can take any real action against climate change. That timegap means we reach well above 2-3C world before they have political power to act. 15 years to 2C is commonly agreed among climate scientists.
We have to act faster. And SHUTDOWN ALL FOSSIL BURNING.

Our elected representatives on both sides of the aisle have no will or financial incentive to do anything about climate crisis.
They say we're not listening. I say our young adults of voting age are not voting.
They need to vote in numbers well above 35%. GenZ and millenials need to stop whining and VOTE. Us older
voters who have been voting progressive for years, are dying out, so we can't bring change alone. We need the VOTING voices and power of the young. Get off social media for some time to go out and vote. Your democracy needs you.
Everyone wants to blame social media, but although social media reminds people too often, it’s not just people being on their phones, it’s them looking at the future and feeling a lack of control over it.
Children feel anxious when they perceive a dangerous future and the adults who should be caring for them are actively making their future even more dangerous.

No way, theres a link hetween mental health and future planning when facing the ever approaching tipping points towards global catastrophe and even potentially societal collapse? Young people upset about that? Not having any future? Not having prospect while facing down the barrel of a fascist regime and ww3? I would have Never imagined that! Wow! Who would have thought that hopeless and hard situations breeds hopelessness! Mainstream media is a main purveyor of causing climate anxiety in children and young adults. Just stop it. Educate yourself and calm down. Stop living in fear. Do what you can and then let it go.

We have global awareness. It's not great to be cleaning up the past, but it is possible. This is the generation that decides if there will be future generations or our planet can no longer sustain us. Actually, it is a very exciting time to be alive. A time of global action unique in human history. We are alive to make the decision for everyone.
