National Senator Matt Canavan has slammed the Australian Energy Market Operator for “hoodwinking” the Australian public into thinking the government’s renewable “obsession” is a cheap option.
“AEMO modelling is started with the assumption that we have to get to net zero emissions by 2050,” Mr Canavan said.
“It doesn’t actually measure that the 82 per cent target … is lower cost than say.”

If their imposing a sun tax to promote buying household batteries, then why do we need a renewables grid? Wouldn't it be a better idea to use that money to put solar panels and batteries in every household? I wonder what the costing of that would be compared to the reckless path the government has committed us to travel. At $10 000 a battery, we could put 1200 batteries in 1200 homes, for the same cost as 1 wind turbine!!! Makes better to me?

The investigation will reveal without a doubt that by 2050 this renewable farce will cost this country trillions of dollars, and much more as they have not even scratched the surface on what they plan to build in regard to wind and solar. The Gen cost report only factored what an investor would face as a cost as all the transmission was a sunk cost in other words already built by 2030, so oh my we have a long way to go to 2050 and transmission will be our cost on our bills.
