Former NSW Labor treasurer Michael Costa has described the Albanese government’s pledge for a $275 reduction in energy prices as a “complete con job”.
AEMO Director Daniel Westerman has told a Senate Estimates hearing earlier today that there was no guarantee the government’s renewable energy plans would lead to lower prices.
“From the prime minister’s point of view, I don’t think he understands the industry anyhow and he was just repeating a slogan somebody gave him,” Mr Costa said.
“But certainly, the energy minister ought to know better or else he is a complete ignoramus.”

Just today visited an old mate 82 years of age living in a SINGLE room aged care home, he pays the power bill. He has seen his bill go from $105/quarter to $320 /quarter.

One of the things the greenies and Labor net zero extremists seem to forget , and that is the high living standard and wealth we as Australians once had for the vast majority some decades ago all came from fossil fuels, coal , gas , these where the things that allowed us to be the lucky country , we at one stage had a good healthy industry base, and big industries employed masses of people from all walks of life and all skill levels.
Have a look at the country now, masses of industry has left the country or gone belly up.
If you look at government currently it appears the main industry they support is making more and more rules and regulations and then employing thousands of government paid positions to service their never ending rule and red tape making.
We can add to that all the huge big build projects that are not urgent, we can’t really afford at this time . Meanwhile back at the ranch , our CB living standards are being shot to shit , we still have a cost of living crisis despite little Julius Ceasur( Albanese the misinformation king) on his golden chariot giving away tax payer funded handouts as fast his little chariot can carry him !
We still have a housing and rental affordability crisis .

As for Albos 275 dollar cheaper electricity , what a joke , our 60 year old 3 bedroom house electricity bill over a thousand bucks , and this year gas has gone up , water has gone up, house rates at least for us outer burbs Melbourne went u by 35% since last year to the previous bill , our c latest bill it’s up a tiny bit more I see , car registration also up , medical scripts also up , i don’t think I need to mention the usual food etc .
