Today we look at a recent video buy a channel who’s entire identity is spouting out FUD about EVs. Why? Who knows. Is he right? Hardly. Let’s see what the data shows when we delete his feelings from the equation.

Superb work Ben !! Keep it up with this effort to those who spread misinformtion !!
Speaking of disinformation. This channels "myth busting" on EV fires is nothing but lies and disinformation. Author has no clue what he is talking about, just wishful thinking that nothing bad ever happens and going on and on how thermal runaway isn't going to happen. Watch videos of StacheD training to see real fireman talking about real risks and stats, not made up Tesla fanboy numbers. Author of these videos has low credibility, which can Be seen in childish name calling on this video for example. If there would Be facts, they would speak for themself. If EV's were good product, there would be no need for disinformation channels like this
If you can charge at home if you can. In UK 50% cannot charge at home and electricity is expensive to charge at stations. The problem with solar is that you need to be able to store electricity and this is a problem. Also with vehicles you are not looking at the age of the vehicle.
Okay hope this finds you well.May not find you at all. I have large amounts of lithium sitting under my land i own.I’m trying to get in touch with Elon musk about this.I am a young farmer in north east Louisiana. I farm corn and soybeans. There has been recent research done with extraction of lithium out of the brine under the ground here. This recent discovery has highlighted the fact that there’s untold amounts of lithium here. And in a very environmentally friendly state. There is a large company currently working on this and is projected to be getting 900 million dollars worth each year out of the ground. (Raping the environment) I don’t know all the science behind this but they have been selling the brine for many many years and now will be extracting the lithium from it. My farm sits right over this formation called the smackover formation. Please get in touch with Elon for me and send him this way. I want him to have access to the lithium. He is a force for good.
Australia is a sun drenched country and 36% of homes have solar. That's 10.8 million homes with free charging.
Public charging does cost as much or more than gas per mile. That is not fake. It’s also naive to say insurance companies will play fair with EV’s if production costs go lower for parts.
A Question….Can you charge EV in weather Rain/Snow? as I see no coverage at public charging, I don't have a garage attached to my house. My vehicle parks in front of my house.
Is the connector water resistant?
MGuy is an engineer and lawyer. What qualifications or credentials do YOU have?! Despite all your arguments’ ev’s are just NOT SELLING MUCH AT ALL in Australia, UK, Germany and Usa.

MGuy is NOT Lying – you need to watch ALL of his videos- you might actually learn something Ben.
You’re making youtube videos about other people’s youtube videos?! You really are pathetic
We have an M3P, it is now 4.5 years old. We have 5kW solar on the roof and electric hot water. The only time we pay for charging is on road trips. Our typical power bill is $10.
You can falsify your statements as much as you like. However, EV’s are the POS that they will always be. A complete money pit. Expensive to buy, inconvenient to operate and a nuisance to repair. Let’s see how you go if there were not Government gifted subsidies to support your delusions. To top it off, if you purchase a cheap Chinese EV, it just shows how little commonsense you have remaining.
I am an Australian (Perth, WA) who recently bought an MG4 Excite 51 for AUD $31,700 (USD$21,000). It gets around 350km of range and I use about 12 kWh of battery per day. I use the trickle charger for most of my charging. It costs me 10c per kWh at night which is $1.20. I am currently charging it for free at home on the weekend because I have solar panels and so it costs me very little to charge. I have used a free 7 kWh charger in the gym car park provided by the city council which is cool. I have used a paid charger a couple of times at 45c per kWh. The first time was a top up charge of 10 kWh for $4.80. The second time was charging from 20% to 80% which was 30 kWh and cost $14.90 (USD $10). OPEC knows that their days are numbered. EVs are better. They are cheaper to buy now. Cheaper to run. Have better tech. Just better.
MGUY is not a real Australian, with that UK accent. Perhaps he should move back there and enjoy the clouds and smog.
Any EVangelists in chat?
Hey Ben pic on a guy called John Cadogan auto expert I'd love to see him wipe the floor with you as everything he states is factual and informative. And I own a PHEV it is frustrating to plug it in with military precision as we only get free electricity between 12-2 and on weekends only so during that time we drive our petrol only vehicle that I only fill up once every 2 weeks and I have endless choices on my regular journeys so no real inconvenience so yeah 5 minutes of my time over 2 weeks which is about 20000 minutes it's about 0.025% of my time really not a big deal and servicing EV still require servicing they still have brakes they still have suspension, tyres, cooling systems, transmissions, and other various mechanical components that require routing maintenance so after all said and done they are just another option not a better one not a more convenient one just another every day option and in general more often a more expensive one at that apple for apples of course
In my experience over the past several years, it seems like 99% of people who hate EVs have literally never even ridden in one. I have personally had a hater ride in my Model3 and they were astonished and by the end of the ride they wanted to buy one. These haters are just uninformed and primed with FUD, so it's great that you are doing what you can do debunk stuff like this.
Even in compact city state I live in, we have many EV chargers all within walking distance from our apartment blocks, despite the fact that majority of us do not even drive let alone own private transportation. The funny thing is, our public buses are still diesel powered.
I think we should not be putting to much artificial unintelligence in EVs.
In the UK EV insurance is definitely not dearer it's very much about even it's just performance models and Awd EVs are super quick so go in highest insurance bands but so do high performance ice cars all sizes
I know it is not likely Ben, but I relish the possibility that one of these misinformed YouTubers will have a sit down debate with you. Have you tried to reach out to any of them to see if they would do that? I’m sure after watching your videos, they would be very hesitant! Nice work, I really like this format, it is non-emotional and fact driven, just the kind of reporting we need!
I think Scotty Kilmers semen is affecting MGuy's brain. Maybe he should be spitting it out from now on.
Clarifying biases and suggesting options. Adapting to the evolving dramatization in EV versus ICE coexistence. Alot of variation depending on where you live and energy options.
Watched many of your debunking videos out of sheer curiosity and, despite your EV bias, you've won me over with the idea of putting a lot of these EV lies to rest with articles that'd include proven data!
Now, I will admit that I too had some concern and moral points in regards to EV's far before stumbling across your channel, but a bit of critical thinking and some inspiration to learn more about cars had me realize how insanely viable and convenient EV ownership is when you live in a small town where everything's in reach within a 10 minute drive. A lot of your confidence and data in these FUD busting videos have only given me the confidence to make the switch once I get my life sorted
Earned my sub in the progress!
No they are kind of inconvenient for long miles he's actually 100% right cuz you have to find charger stations and it's kind of inconvenient the gas station everywhere 20 miles
You're forgetting brake changes replacing tires see he is kind of onto something when you add all the maintenance that they don't tell you about okay that he is right
I believe the argument he made about "who wants to charge at 3 am" at the 6:00 mark, was specifically about public chargers. Which you disputed by saying, you just plug when you get home, then it charges itself while you sleep.
You are absolutely right, but I don't think it was the correct argument to his concern about the cost of public fast chargers.
8:43 Yes, Australia is a tiny country where everything is close together.
@BenSullinsOfficial One of the issues often brought up is that EVs are only market competitive because of subsidies line the tax incentives in the USA to buy an EV. Is there a way to get a figure for subsidies on a per vehicle basis for ICE vehicles? Not only for the vehicle itself, but also for oil and gas to see what the ongoing subsidy is per year for ICE cars. That would be amazing information to have as a rebuttal to these comments.
