No country will step up to avoid climate change. It's just a fact. So I suppose the next thing that has to be done is figure out the best way to deal with flood, drought, fires, starvation, disease, wars, and the other things that are in our future. Of course, a well place astroid will make all other preparations a mute point.

We're up to 57 billion tons of greenhouse gases pollution into our globally shared atmosphere annually. Burning one million tons of oil every hour. Our media has failed its responsibility to inform. Climate reporting on media is a sideshow. Advertisers do not to be offended by the facts of living in a world where the laws of physics and thermodynamics rule. What sponsor would run a commercial about their bloated polluting vehicles on a channel that educates about the pollution their products produce? Unfortunately not only media but every corporation is beholding to the New York based money laundering industry. We've never lived in a more irresponsible time. Worshipping the golden calf at the expense of the biosphere, source of all life on earth.
It’s hard to give up bad habits, especially when you like them.
Why isn't the younger generation voting in record numbers for candidates who are committed to passing legislation to help mitigate global warming? What is the use of economic opportunity or a social safety net if the planet becomes unlivable? It seems to me this should be the number one priority. The U.S. has been the majority total greenhouse gas producer so we should take a leadership role and set an example for the rest of the world.
If everyone in the "government" would shut up we could lower emissions greatly.

Controverial question.. We saw clear skies and dolphins in canals allegedly when the world's economies slowed down during covid lockdowns right? So what would happen if we paid everyone to stay home and agreed to shut everything down again for say 6 months minus the essentials like care givers, grocery stores, gyms and rec centers for example? Just put the world on pause per say for a short time and measured the results? I don't think it'll solve all our problems immediately and yes hard question i know but atleast we'd have the data to go by and soft resets seem like a better options than a hard one to me. Just sayin. 🤔🤷♂️
