  1. In all fairness the fuse panel of my vw caught fire and thats on top of the fuel tank…..but it went out when I pulled the car over. Insulation had peeled off wire.

  2. What about people who have these Battery Storage Systems bolted to or inside their house to store power from solar panels..a lot made from recycled EV batteries, how safe are they..

  3. Just drove home from work in my 27 year old 5-series BMW (E39) and while on the autobahn I put the pedal to the metal and the car drove just as fast as it did 27 years ago. Without bursting into flames or stearing itself into other cars. 😆

  4. Kinda sounds like “quality” doesn’t matter, so why wouldn’t one just buy the cheapest? If a £150k saloon is just a likely to self-immolate as a £15k one, buy the cheaper, and park it away from the house.

  5. Some experts attribute the incident to the use of poor quality Chinese-made battery cells. However, it is important to note that this is just one possible explanation. Charging 100-170 kW DC fast charging (10-80% in 30 minutes) I suspect uneven ion distribution can create stress on the battery's internal components, such as the separator and electrodes. These type of stresses may well lead to the demise and practicality of EVs vs ICE.

  6. The EV agenda is going exactly to plan. Too expensive to buy. Too much depreciation if you do buy one. Too scary to own with the potential for fires. Totally reliant upon electricity to charge. A commodity that will not be available in sufficient supply when the farts and sunbeams disappear. Couple that with the appalling condition of the roads. If that's not enough, ban the sale of new petrol and diesel vehicles. End result, people are kept at home and don't travel anywhere. Mission complete. Government do not care about the motor industry. They want it to fail. They don't want us in any vehicle.

  7. Let me get this right. To own an EV you need to be able to park it near your house to charge it, and to own an EV you need somewhere away from your house to charge it in case it goes up in flames. Gotcha.
