  1. With old power stations it was economy of scale a few large generators, now it is the opposite millions of solar panels and thousands of wind mills., no wonder bills have not come down. We use large lorries or trucks because it is cheaper than fleets of vans.

  2. The polar opposite of what the proponents have been saying. Even if it is physically possible you will have to size your batteries to cope with the very worst situation and then rarely, if ever, fully use it until it has to be replaced. You will also need over capacity on power lines and other infrastructure. The only viable carbon free solution is nuclear, it isn't cheap either but at least it works when you want it.

  3. Wind generated electricity is almost 10 times more expensive than coal generated, taking into account servicing, maintenance, and repairs. More expensive if it's offshore. I got this from the horses mouth at a conference when I was deputy manager of a Sustainable Development team. It's all just a huge con.

  4. A f…..g ginormous black hole pouring your money into it in subsidies ..
A crazed mad book burning exercise destroying coal fired generation a deliberate all or f…k all…
    Looks like f..k all..

  5. I don't know why people don't understand it. Here goes (this gets deleted often!)…
In order to get wind turbines constructed, companies have to be promised a return. Otherwise they simply won't get constructed. The government has to PROMISE these companies that whatever the price of the highest-price energy is at the time it is running, that's what they'll get paid – even if the wind turbines aren't turning. So if gas is selling for say, 15p/kWh, then that's what the wind turbine companies will be given…so they can't lose!

  6. If ever there was a reason not to pursue the net zero scam , the tanking German economy would be it.
Major car manufacturers closing, tens of thousands of job losses.
The only winner in this is China.

  7. Funny enough, i had a conversation about wind farms & solar panel farms with a relative.
The question we both thought of was, who actually benefits from all this?
We both are with renewable energy companies, but our energy bills are not reflecting this with prices
The daily standing charge is also an abomination.

I would rather see the countryside back to being au natural.

  8. Well maybe the long term plan is to re sell UK energy assets to political and wealthy buissness partners in the near future when were to dumb to figure out how to extract gas and dig coal

Building an extra power grid next to the existing one obviously at least doubles the price.
It's the same for all countries with lots of solar and wind.

  10. Farage has burnt his party down. To not acknowledge Brexiteer Peter Lynch the deceased political prisoner is a disgrace. Tice has shown himself a SCAB. If Jenrick wins the Reform are finished. The tories eill win the next GE and thats down to Nigel

  11. Net Zero is economically destructive delusional insanity. The carbon dioxide emissions from fossil fuels have the net beneficial effects of increased agricultural yields (main effect), reduced winter heating requirements, fewer deaths from hypothermia and postponement of the next glacial maximum. These benefits are especially significant in cold areas such as the UK.

  12. The copper producers say that they can't possibly come up with enough copper to go totally electric like the idiot governments want. It can't be done. Net zero isn't possible or necessary for that matter. CO2 is the gas of life. If we lower it to 250 ppm, there will be mass starvation because we won't be able to produce enough food to feed the planet.

  13. If energy produced by renewables was free it wouldn't bring prices down!
The fraudulent energy system in this country, where all electricity is sold at the highest generation cost means
We are ripped off royally no matter what!

  14. Just await the inevitable official Inquiry…..a few individuals will become excessively wealthy…..the taxpayers will pick the tab for the rest of the massive failures….!!!!!

  15. While all our electricity is being charged at the rate it costs to produce using Gas, then nothing is going to change. I can charge my car at 7p/kw at night because it’s renewable energy and not produced by gas. Your guest is obviously completely unaware that the storage for renewable energy is already well underway. Don’t forget that petrol and diesel needs 6-7kw to produce every gallon of fuel you use in your ICE. We have to change, we can’t keep on doing what we are doing as that will only keep the cost of energy high and straight into the shareholders pockets,

  16. Drax is a literal open scam at this point.. cutting down Canadian forests to power it. The manufacture of good to then be shipped to us when we could have made it here.. i don't understand how any loonie tune can possibly think thats green ??? make an inferior version of a product from a more polluting country then ship it over in more pollution lol its all a scam.

  17. There is no urgency for renewables. It is all about getting the money from the tax payer and using subsidies. The king is on this scam as he has off sea turbines. The working man and industry cannot afford the sky high prices for electricity. They knew all this before the companies and corporations started the scam. It is a way to control people. Nothing to do with sustainable energy as the science relays on nature. The elites know that the working man cannot afford this new energy, but the elites and the corporations are cashing in on this project with 22 billion and even more. Nuclear fusion is the future, but the science has not yet caught up. The MPs should tell us who is really making the profits.

  18. When you scratch the surface of all these "solutions" to the invented "climate crisis", you find that windmills and solar panels don't even save as much CO2 as it took to mine, refine, process, transport the materials and assemble them, let alone the thousands of tonnes of steel and concrete for the foundations, millions of litres of paint, resin for the blades (by-products of oil) etc. Windmills kill birds and bats by the thousands and insects by the trillions, and recent research seems to indicate that offshore wind is killing ocean life too. So far these boondoggles have needed replacement far more frequently than claimed, with the blades lasting as little as 2 years in some locations and releasing micro plastic particles as they deteriorate. Solar panels at these latitudes are a joke, even Spain cannot make solar power worthwhile with hundreds of hours per year more sunshine than we get, yet there is a push to cover valuable farmland with these useless eyesores. In short, "environmentally friendly" power generation is anything but, they are ecological disasters. And all in the name of "saving the planet" from a minuscule increase in the gas on which all life depends.
