‘Painful concessions’ needed to secure release of Israeli captives in Gaza: Yoav Gallant

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has faced angry interruptions during a memorial ceremony in West Jerusalem.
He was heckled by family members of Israeli captives still being held in Gaza.
The incident highlights growing pressure on Netanyahu to get them released.
Israeli Defence Minister Yoav Gallant says “painful concessions” need to be made, if Israel wants the remaining captives in Gaza, released.
Speaking at that same ceremony, he told crowds that Israel’s military power alone won’t guarantee success.
His comments came as ceasefire talks resumed on Sunday here in Doha.
Al Jazeera’s Mohammed Jamjoom has more from Jordan’s capital, Amman, because the Israeli government has banned Al Jazeera from reporting inside Israel and in the occupied West Bank.

I think Gallant and other military officials sre the only ones actually trying to get the hostages back. The politicians don't care at all about the hostages, they just want their deterrence capacity back, not realizing that cats out of the bag forever, the military officials know they've already lost to Hamas. Which hostages is this war criminal referring to? The majority of those being labeled as hostages have already lost their lives due to relentless and indiscriminate airstrikes targeting civilian infrastructure, including residential buildings, schools, and hospitals. Refugee camps, meant to shelter displaced families, and places of worship that should offer sanctuary, have not been spared either. Even United Nations facilities, established to provide protection and humanitarian aid, have come under attack. Those who somehow survived the bombings are now facing severe shortages of food, water, and medical supplies, leaving them on the brink of starvation and death.
The most sensible Israelis are not sympathetic to Palestinians, but they understand the only way is concessions and ceasefire.
How can Israel find Nasrallah in all of Lebanon and not the Israeli hostages in Gaza? This is so weird. How did Oct. 7th. happened with hardly any Israeli protection of their own population? Nevermind the music festival but just basic military protection that was absent for hours on end? And then Israel reacts as if they're threatened to be wiped out from the face of the Earth.
