Over time, the average cranium size of a human baby has been slowly but steadily increasing, but the size of the human pelvis and birth canal has remained the same. This has caused a slow uptick in fetal and maternal mortality rates due to the mother being unable to push the baby out during birth, which can rupture internal organs and take out both parties. While this is a very gradually worsening phenomenon, nobody has any theories on how to solve this problem.
