“Unconstitutional”: Alberta applying for judicial review of federal carbon price exemption

“Unconstitutional and unlawful” is what Alberta Premier Danielle Smith called Canada’s federal carbon pricing on Tuesday during a press conference.
Though the United Conservative Party (UCP) leader was admittedly positive about carbon rebates in the past, Smith announced that the province will be applying for exemption from the “carbon tax,” suggesting that it is being unfairly applied to Albertans.
Additionally, Smith revealed that her party will be taking legal action, and as of last Tuesday, has applied for a judicial review of Ottawa’s exemption of the carbon levy on home heating oil.
“The so-called solution of the federal government is to increase the carbon tax on something that is life or death for Albertans in the extreme cold of winter,” Smith told the House of Commons operations committee earlier this year.

Alberta….Canada's Texas and Florida rolled into one. What is the complaint now, we want too pollute more? We want too be able too pump more fossil fuels. Why us the carbon tax blame falling on government when it is the fossil fuel companies that are passing on the carbon tax too citizens. Never any blame on Big fuel companies. I recieve more in my carbon rebate every year then thr small percent I pay on home heating or gas at the pump
