
Health, biodiversity and climate change in Latin America and the Caribbean: a discussion of a current problem for a better future
The event can also be classified in the theme of Biodiversity & Climate Change a the objectives are to:
(1) discuss the relationship between biodiversity, health and climate change in LAC, promoting interdisciplinary research for the identification and generation of evidence that facilitates the implementation of strategies as part of the health and biodiversity policies of the region.
(2) identify strategic areas that prioritize health within the framework of biodiversity and provide information to countries participating in the COP on how to include health-related issues in the biodiversity protection agenda.
The event consists of a presentation of initial exercises for Colombia where health and climate data are brought together to showcase their correlation, and a panel of discussion where experts in areas related to health, biodiversity, One-health, among others, will discuss advances in research on this topic and what are the potential negative implications of not considering the impact that climate change and biodiversity conservation have on human health.
