LIVE | Canada: Officials Admit to Leaking “Information” Against India | Vantage with Palki Sharma
India and Canada’s relations continue to deteriorate as tensions escalate. On Tuesday, the Canadian government accused India’s Minister of Home Affairs, Amit Shah, of involvement in plots to target Khalistani separatists in Canada. Canadian Deputy Foreign Affairs Minister David Morrison said he gave this information to a US-based newspaper, The Washington Post. “The journalist called me and asked if it (Shah) was that person. I confirmed it was that person,” he told a parliamentary panel. Morrison and Canada’s National Security Adviser Nathalie Drouin appeared before the parliamentary panel regarding a recent diplomatic dispute that led India to recall High Commissioner Sanjay Verma and five other diplomats, all named “persons of interest” in an investigation into the 2023 killing of Khalistani separatist Hardeep Singh Nijjar. Drouin admitted that she leaked information on India’s alleged link to Nijjar’s killing to the American newspaper. While the Indian government is yet to respond to Morrison’s claims, it previously strongly dismissed Canada’s allegations as baseless, denying any involvement. Last week, External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar said that India had initially raised concerns about organised crime within Canada, which he said went unaddressed. On Vantage tonight, Palki Sharma tells you more.

I don't really follow elections closely, or America's politics, but..the last time I saw Rubio was in Rep. primaries in 2016 having a shouting match with President Donald..and now they're shaking hands and on a team. So funny.
Hope Trump win!

Illegal activities against Canadians, madam?? Me thinks they r Sikh Khalistani terrorists, if Canada is so concerned abt Khalistani terrorists, Y don't Canada give Khalistanis homeland within Canada?
Palki appears biased and is supporting Trump
Against India or against Modi? Theres a huge difference. I can also see most Canadians/outsiders dont view Trudeau favourably but Canada is still held to a pedestal

Great coverage
She is so full of biased news, its shameful.india's agents have killed the canadian citizen in canadian soil and they were trying to do the same in US soil. This is a propaganda machine and a big mouth piece of the indian govt. Like Khashogi, these people need to be brought to justice. She keep talking about how Trudue is, a clear smear campaign carefully designed for us as they have got caught with their pants down.
Watch this investigation between Canada and India and see the truth for yourself:

O boy, another toilet leak !
Nothing new.
The way geopolitics are going, everyone gets a chance. All india has to do is wait for the right time to teach enemies a lesson.
@P. Sharma,
India has not expelled Canadian diplomats; rather, it’s Canada that expelled six Indian diplomats, reportedly due to their connections with Indian agents involved in ongoing criminal activity in Canada. Palki Sharma, are you aware of the difference between your report and the actual events?
New Delhi is quick to place blame on Justin Trudeau — but for what? For uncovering evidence suggesting involvement by Indian diplomats in illegal activities on Canadian soil? Meanwhile, Canadian diplomats are under scrutiny for allegedly leaking non-classified information to the Washington Post, with documented links to illegal activities tied to Indian officials in Canada.
Where is the accountability on India’s side? Has there been any investigation or pressure on our own officials, like the foreign minister or Amit Shah, the central figure in these accusations? Their silence is conspicuous.
Canada presented evidence against Indian diplomats and requested a lift of diplomatic immunity to facilitate interrogation and corroborate their claims. India’s refusal to cooperate raises the question: why demand proof when avoiding the investigation process?
The fundamental question is clear: is India involved in criminal actions against Canadian citizens or not? Meanwhile, similar allegations have surfaced in the U.S., where an Indian agent was reportedly caught attempting to bribe an American with intentions to harm another American citizen. That’s a serious accusation with documented proof, adding weight to these claims.
This level of journalism misses the mark, P. Sharma. Consider focusing efforts on pressing Indian officials for transparency and holding them accountable.
Also, have you forgotten the old saying "Don't kill the messenger?".
Good
