Every economic activity is polluting on some level. Mining, steel production, electricity generation, transportation, construction are all heavily polluting activities but they're the bedrock of civilisation.
It's actually the scrap and waste they create when they show destruction that's a concern more than the energy consumption etc
The entire âcarbon neutralâ industry is a scam. Imagine this problem becomes so prominent that governments mandate movies to submit a emissions report to get a clearance, then a cottage industry or brokers will sell âplanting tree as a serviceâ to movies and the same tree(s) will be claimed to have neutralized 100 movies. If someone really cares, they should focus on reducing emissions as much as they can not have some third party say that they planted trees for them. I am not saying that particular film she mentioned did that but if that becomes the norm, most would go to some service provider not do it themselves
