“It’s all destroyed, shops, supermarkets, schools, cars,” said local resident Patricia Villar. Close by, a boat that had been carried by the floodwaters lay on a muddy street corner. “It’s mind-blowing,” she said.
In Valencia, the eastern region that bore the brunt of the devastation, about 500 soldiers were deployed to hunt for people who are still missing and help survivors of the storm, which triggered a fresh weather alert in Huelva in southwestern Spain.
The death toll from catastrophic floods rose to 205 people in Europe’s worst weather disaster in five decades.

The alarms came LATE when there were already bodies floating in the water in parking lots or garages, at 8 pm everyone was returning from work on the highway. We are talking about 206 dead and more, along with 1900 missing!!! Entire families dead and here our government does NOTHING, they pass the ball to each other of the responsibility and make politics with the deaths. People are asking for help, medicine, water, food, they are desperate for the military to be sent to Valencia. The military was prepared from the very beginning but the government DOES NOT WANT TO SEND THEM and does not accept foreign aid either. They does not help nor does it allow help. This is barbaric. Nobody is in charge in this country, a failed state Let the international community know!

Our minister, in an arrogant tone, told the volunteers who were going to the villages to help and give food and water to move so that they would not "obstruct" the aid. (What aid? No one has come and no one has been seen.) If it were not for the neighbors who walked 6 hours to reach the most affected villages to give basic products, medicines and food and above all WATER, the people would not have survived. The Government is no longer expected.
