German airport tests out cashew based asphalt in green push

In a move to meet its climate targets, Germany’s largest passenger airport, Frankfurt Airport, is testing its possible future runways using sustainable asphalt concrete derived from cashew shells. Axel Konrad, the project head at Frankfurt Airport Services, says the bioasphalt is of higher quality than tradition bitumen.
