On climate change, Donald Trump expressed doubt about the dangers presented by the warming global temperatures. He told a New Hampshire crowd in 2015 that he does think that the climate is changing, but he argued it’s more naturally occurring. After getting elected, Trump withdrew the U.S. from the Paris Climate Accords and his campaign promised to do so again if he is reelected. Speaking to supporters in New Hampshire in January, he promised a focus on more oil-drilling to help reduce energy costs. Furthermore, on the campaign trail this fall, Trump called climate change “one of the great scams.” Scientists have roundly rejected claims like this, insisting that evidence shows the climate is changing and greenhouse gases from human activity are leading to rising temperatures.
