Writing from the USA where we experience extreme weather with some frequency. In the future the world will have more extreme weather, including longer draughts with fires as well as super heavy rainfall where lots of rain hits the ground in a very short time. We all have got to prepare for it. For the super heavy rains we need to build retaining ponds so that the quantity of water brought by the rain won't overwhelm our waterways. These retaining ponds will then also be useful when we go through dry spells for a water resource.

Spain has experienced some extraordinary heatwaves and now this catastrophic rain event/flood. However, the very obvious climate change is not a talking point as no one wants to see the culprit.
Puedo entender el sufrimiento y la perdida de los seres queridos y las propiedades de Los mas afectados en este desastre climático que han sufrido muchas de las zonas en Valencia, concretamente, pero el echarle la culpa al Rey y ensañarse con el tirándole barro , cieno o cualquiera otra cosa que encuentren como el objecto de abuso contra el, es para mi una muestra mas del mal comportamiento de las masas de gente en situaciones como la presente. En este caso la culpa, la frustación deberia ser dirigida a las autoridades autonómas, responsables de dar la alerta y socorrer de immediato, a los habitantes de la zona afectada por esta catástrofe. Después de todo Valencia es una de las autonomias de las muchas que hay en España y por tanto responsables, totalmente, de los errores cometidos por las autoridades de la mencionada autonomia.
