Our California coastline is eroding at a pace that some experts fear could accelerate as sea levels rise in the face of climate change. One team may have found a solution through the power of electricity.

This will disrupt the bio cycle of the beach
Sea level is rising at a mil every few years, and yes use what little electricity you have for the hair brained idea, fruit and nuts in California
Hilarious….
Idiot savants looking to get rich off the stupidity of others. Might as well electrify the rock walls of the Grand Canyon. Perhaps they will prevent the river from eroding the rock any further. Of course, turing beach sand into a hard surface will do wonders for the tourists and vacationers that like to sun bathe on soft, conforming sand. We can work with nature, not against nature. Trying to fix one mistake with another will not work.
Sounds like another disaster. Leave it alone. Nature always wins. Quit the fear mongering.
The ocean has been rising for the last 10,000 years. Your vision to stop this "climate disaster" is to harden the sand into cement in order to save the environment. You have eyes but do not see, ears but do not hear. I am sorry for you.
Inevitable. money can slow. but not stop.
Anyone who has played with sand toys knows that is a stupid idea. The large chunks will rise to the top, while the small granuals will have an easier time escaping between sandstone chucks.
My friend's father was British and he invented the system to reinforced concrete pilings which are found under bridges worldwide using this method…
The bridge builders didn't like it because they want Bridges to wear out and be replaced often
There is no sea level rise
What a pant load
Climate change?…ugg….
Arizona will soon have ocean front party ! Hot Damn !
Total Clown Planet!
What a joke. Humans have no control over the planet. So called climate change is actually a natural occurrence to educated folks who think for themselves
I appreciate the science behind this, but it seems like a case of 'just because we can do this, doesn't mean we should.'
How much has sea level risen in the last 200 years?
Hopefully it solidifies alll the land, that way the next 10.0 earthquake that happens, California will slide off into the ocean amd stop infecting us border states lol
There's another thing called natural imminent domain reclamation: such as building too close to the oceans, riverways, drained wetlands and lakes, and flood plain areas and mountainic regions, or deserts that naturally reclaim the area over time. Or that have been excelerated by direct altercations of the environment, ie: climate change.
Do the microorganisms living in the sand get to vote on this?
Pretty sure you just shouldn't be building right on the coast. Maybe give it back to the poor people like it was back in the day, at least they wouldn't complain as much…..
Oh crap. This doesn't sound like a good idea.
Hilarious. The ocean will still win.
Building aremovable (able to lower) seawall is a Better idea. A couple European cities have managed to save their shores, as well as a city in Japan.
Ever large ship built and put in the ocean is the cause.
How bout not building on the coast line. 🤡🤡🤡🤡🤡🤡🤡
