Academic and author Dr Bjorn Lomborg speaks to Talk’s Julia Hartley-Brewer about what a second Donald Trump terms means for climate change and Net Zero policies.
He argues that Trump’s election is “the death” of Net Zero, citing the President-elect’s scepticism about climate change.
“The real big issue in Europe and the US is spend as much as we possibly can! It will never work,” he says.
Dr Lomborg and Julia also discuss the COP29 climate summit taking place next week, where negotiators are hoping to agree to a new global finance target to tackle climate change.

Interesting as India are have not only increased but continue to increase their coal fired capacity. Same goes for China who are building a new Coal power plant about every 12 day. I'm sure some of those hundreds of billions of dollars helped India to build them. What they say is different to what they do!

The death of net zero not only kicke wind mills and solar panels into touch, but the battery driven cars too. Which makes me feel a lot safer in multi story stores with car parks under. Ive always worried about just one battery catching fire while Im in the store that fills with smoke as the power fails and no windows, pitch black even during day light, no idea where an exit is. But I like the idea of a suitable fuel replacement for oil.

NetZero had precious little to do improving the environment, was not imposed on those contributing the most impactful damage (by their own admission), uses blame and a big financial stick against individuals and countries and imposes propaganda on children to bring fear and confusion.
