  1. Thank God for Donald Trump, well done, USA. If only we could have someone like him to replace these left-wing, Labor/ Green, flea-brained nincompoops that pass for leaders here in Oz.

  2. I hope it means that EVs will continue to thrive but responsibly. That there will be a market for choices and not mandated. After all Mr Musk sems to be his ally.

  3. Simple Simon can't stop the adoption of EVs and neither can a countries leader, USA's or any other!
EVs are the most elegantly simple, safe, economical and environmentally friendly engineering solution to humanities locomotive needs. Best of all, just like ICE Chariots of Fire before, they will continue to improve apace and relegate legacy technology to where it belongs: History!

  4. Trump is far more rational and even-handed about EV's than this channel is. He says that EV's are great, but not for everyone. That about sums it up. If MGuy would get that, he could pack up his channel and go do something else. But of course, there's money in views, so he keeps on going with the non fact-based anti-EV polemic rants.

  5. Ehh it's a dual system in the USA, California is allowed to set rules for its State, and other CARB states can choose to follow CA's lead or follow the less strict EPA rules. I believe the Supreme Court ruled in favor of the CARB to have stricter rules within its state, and anyone who wants to follow.

There is lots of different metrics, and sadly I haven't looked into most of the new developments in recent years but cars are largely governed on two main metrics Corporate Average Fuel Economy, and tailpipe emissions as found in Tier 4 final.

Biggest hurdle for automakers is the constantly changing rules around nearly everything else on the car. Like how safety tests are performed and rated, mandated nanny systems etc. There is so much scrutiny and laws/regulations on automobiles manufacturer/operation its nearly impossible to meet all these hurdles and have them affordable.

I believe the upcoming CARB mandates were somewhat reasonable when I was viewing them a few years back. I thought they allowed for plug in hybrids, not an outright ban on fuel. If they have switched to EV only solutions… I take back any reasonableness I may have conveyed.

One thing I'm interested in is since we have 5000-6000 lbs sedans/EVs running around, can we revisit GVWR on cars and trucks? I know Ford had gotten in trouble in Europe for having too small of payload capacity in cars, would be nice if cars could actually car 5 adults and not be overweight. The market segmentation on everything seems odd when those little EVs weigh more than most truck and SUV configurations.

  6. climate change does not exist it's all about control and money THE BIGGEST SCAM EVER CO2 IS MAKING THE EARTH FLOURISH BUSH LAND IS MORE DENCE THAN ITS BEEN IN 30 40 YEARS MAKING OXYGEN
