Net Zero – a waste of time, spending money on all these green initiatives, when much of the world (China and India) are continuing to pour out carbon. Yes, we should try to make adjustments, but not to the extent of bankrupting the country for an unattainable target.

The icing on the cake is apparently China's government is dead keen to go green, but the reason they are still burning the coal they do is the locals up in the northwest rely on the coal for jobs, so for democratic reasons the government lets it go ahead to keep them happy. Yes it is a democracy!!!

It isn’t just manufacturing that consumes high levels of energy. Most people don’t realise that computer data centres are high consumers of energy and now that cloud computing and storage is becoming ubiquitous it’s estimated that the world’s data centres will be consuming as much energy as the whole of Germany by 2026.
The government has said it wants to attract new data centres and the AI industry to the UK; but at the same time has run down the reliability of electricity generation by shutting down the remaining fossil fuel plants and relying on renewables.
Nobody is going to build data centres in a location where the power supply might go off at any time of the day or night.
They won't go through the roof! Too many unproductive solar panels in the way!
