
Webinar recording of “MHPSS, Climate-related Hazards and Disaster Risk Management: Methods, Tools and Approaches to Protect and Promote You and Your Community’s Mental Health and Wellbeing Before, During and After Climate-related Hazards” held on 12th November 2024. The webinar was organised by the Inter-Agency Standing Committee MHPSS Reference Group’s Thematic Working Group on DRR and Climate Crisis. Since 2018, the working group has sought to champion and support this area of work, through developing global guidance and resources for use, as well as seeking to share learning from promising initiatives that can inform practice.
This event:
– Highlights the value of operationalizing MHPSS in all phases of Disaster Risk Management (DRM) in the context of climate-related hazards and crises
– Strengthens knowledge among humanitarian and development actors on MHPSS tools and resources to address the increasing impacts of climate change before, during and after emergencies
– Showcases case studies from Indonesia and Afghanistan, demonstrating how organizations are prioritizing MHPSS preparedness actions in response to climate-related hazards
