Much has to do with dishonesty. For example, Bush Jr eliminated 30% of National Weather Service stations, mostly rural, resulting in a skew to urban heat zones, often (Seattle) 10F to 14F higher than surrounding countryside.. NWS says no problem. Yeah. AFA hurricanes they used to be measured at 30-foot off the surface as the eyewall came ashore. Now they are measured at 30,000 feet flying through the eyewalll unencumbered by terrrain, making a 1 a "2" and so on. It's a tax grab and we can only pray our grandkids don't suffer.
