At the same time, harsh winters pushed Germanic and Hunnic tribes southward, leading to increased invasions and pressure on Rome’s borders. Climate change had effectively weakened the empire from within while external threats sealed its fate.
These historical examples show that while wars and politics shape events, climate can decide the fate of entire civilizations.
