One defense against a tsunami were to cause a calibrated anti tsunami directed against the initial one,e.g. by a potent but measured explosion under the surface of the sea.
The same has been predicted for Tenerife and La Palma. Don't see any moves to evacuate any time soon.

you got it wrong. a wave is NOT a tsunami.- A wave travels pretty sslowky at the surface of the ocean. a tsunami trvavels near the botton of the ocean at very high speed and becomes a wave when it reaches low water near a coast line.
Whether it erupts people love to see the reality to face the enormous tsunami 😅
