  1. On my first trip to Iceland, I joined a glacier exploration tour. While paddling on a lake, we suddenly heard a loud cracking noise. A massive chunk of ice broke off from the glacier and crashed into the water, creating a huge wave. It was both thrilling and nerve-wracking, but definitely one of the most unforgettable moments of my life!

  2. People love seeing the glaciers collapse and don't realize they are seeing the end to our climate stability because of it. Maybe they shouldn't be celebrating so much. There has always been calving but never at the rate we face now.

  3. It was January 2025, and I was trekking in the Himalayas near the Khumbu Glacier. Suddenly, a thunderous roar shook the valley—a massive ice chunk collapsed! I barely dodged the falling debris, my heart pounding. The ground trembled as ice and snow rushed down. Breathless, I knew I had just witnessed nature's terrifying power up close.

  4. Witnessing the glacier break apart at 02:10 was absolutely mesmerizing. The sheer power and beauty of nature as the massive chunk of ice collapsed into the water reminded me of my time living in a remote community in the Amazon. Has anyone else ever witnessed something so majestic in person?

  5. These scenes are both epic and terrifying! Watching the ice collapse feels like the Earth is rage quitting. Thanks to this channel for giving me a solid reason to never stand near a glacier!

  6. Watching this makes it clear that climate change isn’t some distant theory. Humans have been burning coal, oil, and gas for decades—now nature is pushing back. Who still thinks this isn’t real? 😨

  7. Glacier shedding is normal and frequent. It takes a min of about 40 years for the glacier to regrow or, it can take 100 yrs or more depending on where it's located and snowfall amts. If you've never seen a glacier shed in person put it on your bucket list, it is truly amazing.

  8. These are interesting. I think it would be cool if someone made a compilation of glacial events where the photographers held the camera still, maybe even on a tripod, with a wide angle view.

  9. Back in July 1984, I was heading to the states down the Diese highway from Alaska and I stopped to visit a glacier. The glacier was on the other side of a lake but chunks of ice would make it to the shore I was standing on. I picked up a small chunk and put it in my camper's ice box to keep my food cold on the way south.

  10. Why do you have to hype the "GW" BS? Alaska glaciers have been receding and growing for thousands of years. Even the current cycle started long before the industrial revolution. Greenland was called that because it used to be mostly ice free as recently as a 1000 years ago. FYI, the Petermann glacier is growing, not shrinking.
