Great presentation, the 3GD is a major target in a time of war from any enemy. If 1.4 billion is the population (doubtful) 400 million would die if the Damn level is at 175. Much of the Chinese miltary would be destroyed as they have deployeed it in the area around Wuhan. The rapid change would have a devistating impact on the world for many years with the effect on rotation and axis tilt. I totally agree with your comments, but I would add one more thought for you. if the CCP thought they would lose power they may destroy the dam to inflict as much damage as possible on the rest of the world. They people down stream from the dam would not be important to them if they were losing power.
before an attack on Taiwan would happen, they would lower the water levels in the chain of dams on the river to reduce future damage in a conflict. they have not done so to date. So the question is a bluff or preparing to commit suicide and take as much of the world with them?

Lei I think your barking up the wrong tree. The earth doesn't spin on a perfect axis it never has, it wobbles up to a couple of meters a year, this was happening long before the dam was even thought of, so to suddenly try and tie any change of the axis to the dam is a monumental stretch of imagination. The guestimate that it might move up to 2 centimeters is based on the dam being full which it seldom is. The change is so small compared to the natural wobble of the earth it can't be proved that the dam impacts it at all. As for slowing the earth down, sky scrappers are probably just as likely to slow the earth down as the dam is.
Excellent vid, I've been aware of this massive dam for a few years. When north America was covered by melting ice we had the messula ice dam break, scars left all over the western US. I'm bettin that event shifted the planet into catastrophe all over the world. Excellent topic thx Lei 👍.. cA

The Three Gorges dam is nowhere near the largest dam in the world in fact, it merely held the title of the largest hydroelectric dam, meaning one that generates power as it releases water. It is also a strategic nightmare to have infrastructure like this during a time of war, when we have long range ballistic missiles with bunker busting warheads, once struck this Dam would cause a flood on a scale that is said to kill up to 100 million people, it basically is an Achilles heel, China wasn't too smart to build it.

This dam sounds like another vanity project. This is a human trait – it isn't specific to Chinese leaders. There is no end to our pride and vanity. We should be embracing modesty and humility instead. We would be healthier in every way, and so would the Earth.
Thank you Lei! This was a great talk on the dangers posed by massive dams built by communist China! They are building another one in occupied Tibet on the Brahmaputra which is even larger than the three gorges dam which is going to cause colossal environmental damage, destroy the fragile ecosystem of occupied Tibet and exacerbate earthquakes as we have seen just recently in Dingri in south western Tibet! The CCP doesn’t allow information to go outside and hide everything but it has caused immense damage and thousands of houses virtually demolished including nine monasteries! Despite such calamity, the CCP is still not stopping the dam project. Such projects not only cause irreparable ecological damage but also displaces millions of Tibetans from their ancestral homes destroying ancient monasteries and ancient scrolls that are precious relics of the monasteries! Communist China is destroying the land of the Tibetan people who are helpless under the oppressive regime and treated like barbarians even though they are the real custodians of Tibet!

From memory, when the dam fails (Due to Tofu Dreg or Bunker Busters) it takes up to 13 days for the water to reach the ocean, and the level of destruction left in the path of the floodwaters is total.
NASA said the location of Earth's spin axis moved about 10 meters between 1900 and 2023.
