  1. Absolutely, as beings living on the surface, we ignore fully the destruction we cause in the sea due to acidity, deoxiginatin, and warming. Only a stupid species, sorry to say, can act like this.

  2. Any geoengineering that reduces insolation will cause more damage than it fixes because it will reduce plankton and terrestrial plant production that will increase CO2, starve millions and reduce solar PV and wind power output needed to offset fossil fuel power production. Decarbonization of biomethane using green electricity or heat will remove carbon from the air if quickly scaled-up.

  3. That ocean temperature graph is a very good indicator to use, as Peter said, it doesnтАЩt fluctuate just keeps going up. The deniers canтАЩt argue with it, well they can, but they would look very stupid. I wonder if this is what is causing the ocean salmon farm mass deaths in Australia. Too hot.

  4. If you care about the climate AND BIODIVERSITY emergency go vegan or stop complaining – just saying.
Love this channel and your dedication just frustrated with non vegan
    " environmentalists" generally speaking.

  5. The biggest problem with this channel is that it is not compulsory viewing for politicians and business interests, particularly fossil fuel extractors and insurance companies. For me, it is simply preaching to the converted.

  6. Thank you for continuing to make these videos. They are true informative. Yes, I know that some people may see them as alarmist. That is not the case at all. We are all in for quite a ride.

  7. Try to explain this to Dr. Mann who has a totally contrarian idea that the ocean will continue to absorb excess atmospheric CO2 and heat тАж thus reducing atmospheric CO2 and heat once Net Zero is achieved. He and his ilk hold firm to the fundamental erroneous assumption that ignores saturation & equilibrium.

  8. Mitigating solutions are actions governments SHOULD have done, not need to do. It is clearly too late to prevent climate breakdown and civilisation collapse. You are indulging in an intellectual fantasy. There's no evidence that fossil fuel use is decreasing. Global warming will continue until disaster strikes, and it will be too late, at which point the focus will shift to reactionary disaster management.

  9. So we're basically a handful of people(Trump, Vance, Mike Johnson), from getting a chance to tackle climate change. If we could just convince 8 republican senators and about 12 representatives we could have impeachments and start mitigating this climate catastrophy. Pool our money as a national effort, and then buy a lobbyist?

  10. The Canfield ocean is a serious threat to all life in the Earth. Hydrogen sulphide is a deadly gas. Even the low concentrations can already cripple the living beings including us humans in this planet. The development of anoxic areas in the ocean should be monitored closely.

  11. Why wonтАЩt warmer oceans do what theyтАЩve always done: grow coral reefs, grow the tropics both above & underwater, & promote new speciation? Why wonтАЩt warm seas once again bring amazing new critters & plants?

The fossil record is pretty clear that warmer seas have consistently supported flourishing seas and flourishing reefs. I always visit the hottest little corners of Biscayne Bay to see all the stunning new fluorescent corals that are growing in these equivalents of hot parking lot puddlesтАж if those beautiful new corals can grow in such blistering hot places, why not assume theyтАЩll grow everywhere when the globeтАЩs temperatures rise to be as hot as these little тАЬparking lot puddlesтАЭ?

  12. The global climate is a self regulating ecosphere. If the temperatures rise, ice melts and joins the ocean. Which results in more evaporation. Which results in more humidity, rainfall, snowfall.

The sea levels were four hundred feet lower 10kya and the earth has had at least 6 major ice ages.
All to do with the earth's cycle around the sun.
I'm halfway thru and it's just been doom and gloom and that's great for donations and bag money but where's the beef?

  13. The big corporations that dumped all their waste in the oceans have devastated the natural cycle of life. And just think of all the oil spills these big corporations did in the middle of the oceans and never completely cleaned them up why don't you make the corporations pay for their damage it's not humans that are doing it it's the corporations that have been doing it for years .
Why don't you read the nonfiction book called silent spring she had a lot to say about all the chemicals and everything that was being dumped into her oceans and use to kill insects and use to actually kill the population. God sees everything and God knows everything who doesn't want to the Earth don't blame individuals who live and breathe on what the big corporations to steal every penny that you have from you just to have a little bit of gas in your car or have some natural resources in your home you're all the same aren't you blame everybody else but guess what if this is climate change or whatever you want to call it you're just as guilty if you charge one person you have to charge yourself too because you breathe eat and poop don't you

  14. It's very sad because most governments are in it for the money companies are in it for the money. Like you said the only thing right now that might help if they start blocking out the sun a little bit. pretty much anything they block out the sun with is going to pollute something else correct?

  15. Not quite on point re ocean warming but perhaps relevant to the underlying problem; elevated CO2 levels.
It has always impressed me how significant the northern hemisphere dip in CO2 is each Spring as the molecule is taken up by new growth. Could we not plant many millions of hectares with rapidly growing trees and then every few (?5) years cut them down and bury them? This would take out a not insignificant amount of CO2 on a regular basis. We could access this stored wood down the track if required.
Geo-engineering on a massive scale but much more environmentally appropriate than most other schemes.

  16. Even if it now seems to be the only solution left, as Paul says, to introduce these "Solar Climate Intervention Methods", I dread the idea what the Oligarchy and their beholden Governments will do with this.
Deep down you must know that it will end badly, because they won't reduce the incoming sun radiation just a little, they will reduce it so they can keep doing what they're doing now and that's "Drill more!".
How you are keeping your hopes up is maybe commendable, but I have none for several years now.

  17. Who cares? Not me. We all have to learn to accept the death of everything. Nobody is saving anything or anyone. We can barely guarantee we wonтАЩt need diapers in old age. Life is awful in case you didnтАЩt know

  18. Cheeky question, but one that I think needs to be asked….

How many of you (in the video and audience) drive cars year round and keep your heater going above 16┬░C in the winter time?

I think this is the biggest problem. People are not taking enough personal responsibility. They want someone else to solve the problem.

  19. Or course we have a choice and butt head oligarchs have chosen it for us. Which is to exterminate humanity, replace us with robots and send the rest to Mars.
