PETM (Paleocene – Eocene Thermal Maximum) event released trillions of tons carbon into atmosphere causing Global temperature soar. Life on was thrown into chaos – ecosystem collapsed species struggled and many went extinct. It took 150,000 long years to reabsorb life was completely different
from before.
Today, we are burning Fossil Fuels and releasing carbon at much faster rate
than PETM it took millions of years to get these resources that we burn within seconds for short term PROFIT. Compromising millions of years of evolution. Can we learn from Earth’s past, or will we push ourselves toward the next mass extinction? The future is in our hands.
