Excellent work again Peter. Thank you for keeping up the fight against a worsening climate narrative! If you have a look out the back of James Cook Uni where you used to work there still exists a major installation used to research cyclone and high wind effects on housing which ultimately led to the strengthening of building codes in Northern QLD. I looked over the site when I studies Geology there back in 1995-9.

I couldn't agree more about cyclones/hurricanes. I live in Southern Louisiana, USA. We are a prime target, I lived through more than I can count. I'm not worried. Regarding the latest of the California wildfires, while tragic, that part of the States is a chaparral. Dry, dry, dry. Fire has shaped that landscape for millenia and will continue to do so long after we are gone. Keep it up and thanks so much for speaking up with facts and a calm demeanor.

…. i do know a meteorologist and physicist, who suspects global warming will reduce cyclones, as they are not really driven by temperature, but differences in temp, and delta t may actually reduce with more warming.
How true, the people who constantly shout follow the science never actually seem to follow the science. Indeed they seem to ignore any reports or data that contradicts their narrative and only accept those those that appear to at least not contradict it.
The media went completely insane over cyclone Alfred. Channel 7 was laughable.

I have noticed a lot of folks in Townsville who have recently come from interstate or overseas tend to overreact over cyclones. Their hysteria is fed by inexperience and media hyperbole [clickbait].
Cyclone Alfred was the classic BS fear campaign . I live right in the firing line of Alfred's path. It was total BS we have had more damage and flooding by thunderstorms than what Alfred caused and there were no government relief then, but it is amazing what a looming election can do.
The Fraud has to end soon.

IPCC AR6, Chapter 12, p.1856… the BIBLE for climate scientists, says 'No Confidence' that CO2 increase has made severe weather worse… a chart lists example categories: average wind, severe wind, fire, flood, hurricanes, tornadoes, drought, etc., etc. Yet, 'experts' routinely contradict this in the access media.
"Fewer people die"… Happy days. This doesn't mean that weather events aren't getting more intense, it means that our mitigation methods and early warning systems are better. That's all fine and dandy for humans, but what about the natural world? You know, all of them critters who don't get the early warnings and lovely evacuation centres to hide in? I just saw a report that estimates that 125,000 cattle have perished in thee Queensland/NSW flooding that is occurring right now, and that's just on the land that humans have been able to access, to do a count. You're a misinformation spreading flog.

Which is why the Chicken Little story should be one of the more important stories taught in grammar school. PS I quit listening to Hossenfelder when she jumped on the climate alarmism bandwagon. More developed countries have so much invested now in individual lives and livelihoods that it is downright criminal that we are not doing enough preparation for disasters. Similarly, we can do modern miracles with medicine, but it costs an enormous amount of money. I've asked many people here in America about this and asked if they are making preparations for higher medical costs, for example, and they almost always say no.
