Hailstorm in Nanjing (April 10, 2025)
On April 10, 2025, Nanjing, Jiangsu Province, experienced a significant hailstorm. Different reports indicate large hailstones caused damage to property, including cars. Multiple users confirmed the event, describing it as “catastrophic” with significant impact on the area.
On April 11, 2025, strong winds were reported in two locations: Guiyang, Guizhou Province, and Zhangjiakou, Hebei Province. In Guiyang, the winds were strong enough to blow away electric scooters.
On April 12, 2025, Beijing faced severe weather characterized by typhoon-like winds (reaching up to 150 km/h), described as some of the strongest April winds in decades. The winds, driven by a cold vortex from Mongolia, disrupted travel, closed key sites, and prompted warnings for residents to stay indoors. Over 400 flights were canceled at Beijing’s Capital International Airport by Saturday morning.
Dozens of train services were halted to ensure safety. State media reported nearly 300 trees toppled and 19 vehicles damaged.
