On April 22, 2025, a deadly terrorist attack in Pahalgam, Kashmir claimed 26 lives. In response, India placed the Indus Waters Treaty of 1960 in abeyance — a move with far-reaching consequences for both regional geopolitics and environmental stability. This video unpacks what it means to suspend the treaty, how climate change is intensifying water stress in South Asia, and what lies ahead for India and Pakistan as water, once a shared resource, becomes a strategic tool.

Always eagerly waiting for DTE updates 😊
India can't do substantial changes in INDUS river as catchment area is in PoJ&K & building dams in ladakh without canal could catastrophic to our own people..
now on JHELUM we could build dams + reservoir which would not only restrict water but also save kashmiri's during flooding season & rejuvenate wular lake..
on CHANDRABHAGA(CHENAB) we could hasten up construction of dams to build huge reservoir to the size of Bhakhra/Pong Dam to make large amount of electricity & use water for canals in Jammu region further it could also be linked with RAVI & BEAS…
RAVI need to completely shut off & be used to flush up water in punjab & further SYL be constructed to extract excess water in Haryana, Rajasthan & UP
As a upsc student, i followed my duty to watch it carefully 😅❤
